pol Posted March 22, 2007 at 03:44 PM Posted March 22, 2007 at 03:44 PM (edited) It seems as there will be a new and "slimmed" version of "1 Fille & 4 Types" to be released on May 14th 2007 in France, one week before Céline's new French album "D'elles" will be released. This version will only cost 6,99€ and that's why the CD won't be in a normal case but most likely in a card such as fr example the most French singles. You can pre-order it here at Amazon.the info comes from Celine Dion Speed PageCeline Dion Speed Page It seems that they are going to release the new edition of the album 1 fille & 4 types, but as far as I right understood, in a card sleeve... Javito Posted March 22, 2007 at 04:36 PM Posted March 22, 2007 at 04:36 PM (edited) I read its going to be in a cardsleeve, like the cd single, not digipak... But a digipak format would be great In any case, I'm amazed to find that they don't show any excuse to re-release her old albums when a new album is approaching, but they seem to make impossible a release of a decent cd single or an album of inedit songs anytime! pol Posted March 22, 2007 at 04:39 PM Author Posted March 22, 2007 at 04:39 PM Yeah, I agree that the digipack format would be great, but if I'm right it's going to be released in a card sleeve only, just like some singles are. Anyway, it's good. I think I'm going to buy it probably, if it's possible here in Poland. Ronny83 Posted March 22, 2007 at 07:38 PM Posted March 22, 2007 at 07:38 PM Sony BMG released a lot of Digipack Edition albums last month here in Italy. Check this: http://www.internetbookshop.it/cd/ser/serp...isc+Box+Sliders Quote The Celine Dion Italian fanbase - CelineDionItalia.com
Der_Griffon Posted March 22, 2007 at 07:51 PM Posted March 22, 2007 at 07:51 PM Digipacks do have booklets normally. Usually they are also made for luxus/limited editions only. Here in Germany the digipack versions cost more than the jewel-case ones and they actually look better. Lately I bought myself Patricia Kaas' last album in digipack, it has one song more (it was the limited edition) and a booklet and it's twice slimmer than a regular jewel case. This might be the case for Celine's album as well. The only problem is that the price should be much higher than 6,99. I don't know what this might be... This is the only thing that bugs me about it... And I also read the German text on the Celine Speed page... It didn't say digipack version , it said - a slimmed down version.... This is not a new release, its an old album, so thank God they don't charge us 10 or 15 euros for it! (even more if it doesn't include the booklet ) ..I see their point! They are re-releasing her french treasure just before her Mega Upcoming New French album, in order to give people the taste of her older works!! Just another silly commercial movement from Sony BMG I agree. Or in order to make her public spend more money on re-editions again and again. Its curious they can't release any single with interesting tracklistings (for SINERQU I mean) and they hadn't release anything in 2006 for the fans, but they have time and mood to make re-editions of her albums all over the time again and again Quote "Hush, now... Alex_Incognito Posted March 22, 2007 at 09:53 PM Posted March 22, 2007 at 09:53 PM The digipack, I imagine will be like the special edition singles of "The First Time EVer I Saw Your Face" and "All By Myself (with Christmas message). Love, Posted March 22, 2007 at 11:21 PM Posted March 22, 2007 at 11:21 PM For clarification purposes: a "digipak" does not apply to the number of tracks on the record. A digipak is mainly a format of packaging for a disc. I have Celine's "All By Myself" CD1 and "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" CD2 from UK which are in digipak format, and I have a Ronan Keating's "When You Say Nothing At All" CD single in digipak, but my brother has albums from many rock bands that have digipak as the format for their album releases. It's a matter of preference, really. However, I think it looks COOL Now, if I am interpreting this "slim-down" version; I am assuming that it could also be one CD with selected songs from each album. I prefer digipacks and now I'm considering selling the jewel cases and getting the digipacks. I don't know why so many people tend to think that the digipacks don't have a booklet. They DO have one and the packaging is much nicer in that way, I really prefer it. As said, here in Germany only limited or lux editions are in digipacks and they usually cost more then the jewel case version. I, for one, have all my Rosenstolz albums in digipacks, and especially the last luxurious digipack edition was amazing - it contained 7 unreleased songs from the album along with a DVD with 4 videos and their respective making ofs plus an unreleased concert footage from Berlin. And they would have never got to that level of art if it were in a jewel case... Anyway, I don't believe that those Celine digipacks are going to have anything special about them, but I would love to have them nevertheless...I hope this dies answer your question Quote http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj229/Der_Griffon/SIGNATURE-1-1-1.jpg March 15th and 16th 2011, Las VegasThank you Celine and thank you friends! I doubt it will have any extra tracks So what's the use of buying it? Just for the package? That's a waste of money i.m.o. To waste fan's money. And to abuse of their holy patience with Céline's (unnecessary) re-releases I repeat what I said yesterday: its very annoying to see that Sony doesn't have any scruples about re-releasing old albums of Céline in different packackings/boxsets/compilations, but NEVER deigns to release good singles/albums with her unreleased songs, that we know they exists and a lot of them . And this critic includes Céline and René, who don't seem to be implicated with her own releases and its contents (when the rest of singers of her size give to the fans tons of extra stuff and great releases with many additional contents). Well it's really for those who don't have those albums yet (which btw were released 5-10 years ago). And to build up some anticipation for "D'elles". And for people who dislike jewel cases. I don't get that too. A slim digipak can perfectly hold the booklet within it. It fits perfectly in the cardboard cover So I don't know where's the use on this re-releases if we don't have the full album, which also includes the booklet to follow the lyrics Edited March 23, 2007 at 08:20 PM by Gonzalillo Quote "Hush, now...
