Macaronie Posted March 19, 2007 at 06:40 PM Posted March 19, 2007 at 06:40 PM Had to work as a host there, so I was paid to see Dolly live... Damn, what a pair of lungs!! She really blew me away, gladly I could get a hold on her two waterballoons But she sang almost every hit, and the crowd went nuts, it was a true magical experience!! Very amusing, funny and amazing!! She still rocks!! It's been like 30 years or sth since she's been to the Netherlands... And the 5000 people who were there went nuts, really!! Some where even agressive when I asked them to step out of the paths LMAO but yeah, I survived and could watch it all!! Excellent!! Quote

cannonball Posted March 21, 2007 at 11:28 PM Posted March 21, 2007 at 11:28 PM I love Dolly. It's great to see a woman who has been at the top her entire career. She's still releasing albums that are some of the best work she's ever done. Seeing her in concert a few years back was definately a highlight for me. Scully Dion Posted March 25, 2007 at 12:08 PM Posted March 25, 2007 at 12:08 PM Well, I saw her in Manchester last week - she was amazing! I was lucky enough to have 2nd row seats, so I got to see everything up close and personal. Oh man, is that woman skinny skinny skinny!!! I know there are other parts of her that are talked about more, but seeing her that close up I couldn't believe how skinny she was, especially for a 61 year old. The concert was amazing, she was very funny indeed, a highly entertaining gal. At one point in the middle of one of her songs she grabs hold of the banjo and plays a few notes, then she gets a violin and does the same, then a guitar and then a harmonica! All that with those nails! Quote www.celinelasvegas.comCeline Dion and Las Vegas Travel Guide - follow me on twitter @celinelasvegas

shady pines ma Posted May 26, 2008 at 11:48 AM Posted May 26, 2008 at 11:48 AM Bringing this post back from the dead. I've loved Dolly for years now, but lately she's becoming an obsession with me. Her newest album, Backwoods Barbie, is absolutely AMAZING. It's her first mainstream country album in years, and she completely nails it. Her voice is as amazing and emotive as ever, and she wrote by herself all but the two covers on the album (Fine Young Cannibals' "Drives Me Crazy" and Smokey Robinson's "The Tracks Of My Tears."), the track "Jesus And Gravity," and she co-wrote "Better Get To Livin'." I've also discovered a lot of her back catalogue lately...mostly rare albums that are OOP or WERE OOP until just recently. Did you all know that her first album for Columbia records in 1987, titled Rainbow was pure pop? Not a trace of country to be found anywhere. The idea was for her to make separate country and pop albums, but when Rainbow flopped big time, she stuck to just recording country material for the rest of her stay at Columbia. You can hear a few songs from Rainbow on YouTube. Dump The Dude - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qagwqcP2GxgMore Than I Can Say (NOT the Leo Sayer song) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXghPLOtShYThe River Unbroken - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1m5VULPMRc I also recently received the UK import CD with her Burlap And Satin and Real Love albums. Absolutely amazing albums with that great 80's country/pop crossover sound. So yeah. I'm obsessed now. Lymon Posted March 19, 2009 at 07:53 PM Posted March 19, 2009 at 07:53 PM Ok, Dolly is incredible! I've been recently discovering her music, and she is so incredible. I love her unique voice, her beautiful songwriting, and her amazing albums. My favorite albums of hers are her three Bluegrass albums(The Grass is Green, Little Sparrow, and Halos & Horns). Her latest album Backwoods Barbie is very consistent and there isn't one song I hate on it. I especially love the song Cologne. It seriously deserves a Grammy, it's such a good song. She's not unfortunate in terms of her "cups", either Quote http://i51.tinypic.com/2uf4r5f.png
