 I just finished watching the whole video. Wow, it was really great to see. Of course it would be nice to have subtitles but I could understand most of the general things with my very limited knowledge of basic french. I loved seeing the early videos and photos of Rene. One thing I noticed in those early photos is how much his daughter resembles him, especially the eyes!

It seemed that a few people seemed to mention that he is some kind of numbers whiz. I guess that would make sense since he is an excellent poker player and of course it's made him a master contract negotiator.

I know before Celine he managed a Quebec singer named Ginette Reno. One thing I was trying to figure out is there was some sort of falling out between the two which lead to him either leaving or being fired. I was just wondering what happened.

I've always been a big fan of Rene, so it was great to see this show even if I could not understand it all. The footage and interviews were great.

Thanks again for this great video.

I haven't watched this part yet. I'll probably watch tomorrow.

But as far as I understood from a few past reads, she left René because her lover told her to. That's why René was so hurt. There was no reason. The guy just didn't want him.

Yep, it´s true. They said about her lover there.

And by what I did understood in another video with Portuguese subtitles heheh I dont know if it was Rene or Ginete who said that she didn't want to be that famous as Rene wants her to be. And that Ginete did choose to be with her family, lover etc than to give herself to a career.

I really think it was an incompatibility of goals. I think Rene wanted a thing and Ginete wants other.

I loved this documentary! I love that they showed the amazing man, manager, husband and father that Rene is. He was really cute when he was young :in_love: He's cute now too, actually, he's got really great eyes. When you look at him, he has those big warm eyes, you wouldn't really expect him to be the tough manager and businessman he is. Everybody in the documentary goes on and on about how smart he is and how great he is at math, with numbers. I think it was his cousin who said that if you ask him to multiply 4560 with 450 (not the exact quote, but it was something like that) Rene could give you the answer in a few seconds. I find that amazing, my math skills are at the level of a 10 year-old :blushing1: It was nice too see pics of his parents, they were quite beautiful people. They said his father was upset with him when he decided to go into showbusiness, but they never said if he ever got over that and accepted Rene's choice... guess he didn't. It was fun to find out Bill Clinton insisted that Celine sings at the Olympics, because an American singer was supposed to sing instead. I didn't know that. I loved it when he said that he is so happy he was able to give Celine the best gift he ever could, a child, I just melted when he said that  And when he said "is the husband that gets mad, not the manager", when he was talking about getting mad at magazines writting really stupid stuff about Celine (he showed some magazines saying Celine commited suicide and incredibly dumb things like that). All I can say: any woman should be so lucky to have a man like Rene and any man should be so lucky to have a woman like Celine. Edited by Teodora

Yeah I think they mentioned something about how Rene had a bigger vision for her career and she did not agree with it. I think this was a big disappointment for Rene at the time and it was right before he met Celine. I think he was at a crossroads in his life about what to do next in his career at the time because of this. Luckily for him and us, this is when Celine came into his life and the rest is history. It just goes to show you that sometimes good things come from bad. :)

Yeah, that's right. And also to show us that sometimes, we think that something is very important for us, is the best for us, and we get mad because we couldn't reach that thing.... ---- I believe we are the players in this life. Not always we know which pacht to follow... Sometimes, we don't get something that we think is the bets for us because there's soemthing even better waiting for us.

I finally watched the whole thing!

First of all: thank you JP and to the administrators for these videos. When the news first came about this documentary I thought I would never get to see it completely because it was not really 100% about Celine and maybe people wouldn't care. So thank you for this. Really. You made my day. Thank you.

It's not a secret that I have a deep admiration for René. He has always fascinated me since day 1. After watching this I feel even more fascinated and I'm for real a diehard fan. He is a great man, one of the best men I've got the chance to "know". He is a great person, not perfect (is anyone perfect afterall?) but still a great human being, a great businessman, a great father, a great husband, a great manager. And I get so mad when the so called fans criticize him, question his decisions, mock him. People tend to forget if it wasn't for him Celine wouldn't be who she is today. He has never ever done anything to harm her or her carreer. And he always put her first: her happiness and her feelings, since day one.

So, I had a lot of fun watching this. I cried also (I can't help myself...). I had a great time. Congratulations to René, he really deserved this. His family must be so proud of him. I am proud of him.
