writing a petition for the release of IKILY

first of all - a request from the moderators - i know there r already topics about the new song but i opened this new one due to 2 main reasons :

 

1 - we know that people from sony r surfing here from time to time and they might see this headline and do something about it .

 

2 - the other topics r about the song itself or her oscar performance...here we'll get the chance to see just how many people think it's a good idea to release this song and if there r enough people we might send 1 official letter from the forum .

 

 

now , we dont have alot of time , the oscar is in 17 days!! and we want people to hear this song as soon as possible on radio stations so the oscar performance would push it even more right?

i think that this major event is the best way to promote this song and celine's next english album...billions of people will watch this ceremony and hear this song , i'm sure some of them would ask - "ohhh where can i get this song?" - it's a once in a lifetime opportunity

 

i hope most of u will join this effort regardless of how much u love this song or not - there is a major opportunity for our celine to come back big time and we should do everything in our power to help her...

thank u very much and hopefuly we'll get some ideas for the official letter

i don't feel that this song should be released...i don't like it that much but should it be released i think it should be the day after the Oscars...i think that the Oscars performance should be the one to introduce the song...i can't think of any non-celine fan liking this song

well this song well promote the tribute album more cause for Celine's english album it won't come out until october...... don't u think it's a bit too long for it....

but of cause a single will be always good... but don't know if it will get a lot of play though...

i said right from the start that i dont think it's her best song ever but i truely think it's a nice tune that many people might like...yes , it's not very commercial yet the oscar is the most commercial event ever and the potenial is great .

 

it's enough to see how many people from this forum love this song to realize the great potenial of it...it's enough that only few millions of the people watching the oscar would like it , it's still gonna be a hit

until the release of the album they can release 1 more single

i just want celine to come back one step after the other...and i think releasing this song is a great way to bring her back into the spotlight .

I don't think it should be a single, it's a Celine classic already though IMO - just like Then You Look At Me!

 

I'll be happy if it appears on the new album and she uses the song LIVE to promote the album but commercially it would flop! Too slow but beautiful!

if someone doesn't like the song, watching it live at the Oscars won't mean a damn...i'm sure many ppl including me will say "oh how classy what a nice song, what a performance" but i don't think they'd bother to buy a single or that they'd wanna hear it on the radio or something...its just a soundtrack song...its nice while watching a movie or in a romantic dinner but that's all there is to it...just like miracle..its nice, but its still a lullaby

I love the song, but I really don't think it's suited [to be released] as a single.. A music video would definately be nice and complementary for the song, but a single/radio release wouldn't be wise IMO. Especially as it will be her first English single since quite a while..

This song should not be released on the radio as a single, we'd be lucky if it got more than 100 spins. Too slow and too much of a ballad, she needs a more upbeat song something like Let Your Heard Decide

I adore this song. But I think it just needs to be for the awards...and for people to look up and listen to on their own. It will be the perfect little taste of Celine before she released a really radio friendly song that will blow us all away.

I love the song and I think it is a great one; however, I don't think that it is a "Radio" song only because it is more of a Epic Movie song, maybe a song that would play during a scene in a movie or on a TV show - that I could see. I think if we want Celine to come back strong, and I think we all do, she needs a better more commercial song (radio friendly) for her first single. Plus this is way to early for a first single to promote her new English CD.

This a beautiful song. But the populous is quite fickle. For a good example "A New Day" song. There happens to be two version of the song, a fast one and a slow one. Witch one do you think gets played on the air? It is quite obvious which one is played on the radio. Most people have short attention spans and tend to loose interest after four and-a-half minutes of doing anything. But for some of us who could sit still for long amounts of like myself. that is rare to find. Most likely I could read good book for hours, or play a awesome game for days on end. I don't think other would appreciate this song as much any of Celine fans. Not in less you want them to butcher this song by make a fast version to appeal to everyone else. Here is one more song they had to change for it to be on the radio. "It all Coming Back to Me Now" From it's original time of seven minutes and thirty seven seconds long to about four-and-a-half minutes long just thkeep listeners tuned to the station. We should probably wait for the Song to be released on the tribute Cd or the English on to come out.
