On 11 August 2007, EarthOne Productions will deliver "World Peace One," the largest humanitarian event ever experienced. The event is currently planned to be broadcast "live" from 15 primary host cities with the support of secondary host cities spanning 24 time-and span 24 time-zones across the world.

 

Throughout the event's 24-hour broadcast, "World Peace One" will unite the world with music, inspiration, and responsibility. This event will reach more than 3.5 billion people in more than 180 countries through a global distribution grid that includes television and radio networks, Internet and mobile distribution networks, and a humanitarian awareness campaign that can help bring an end to war in our lifetime.

 

World Peace One is attracting a line-up of international recording artists, actors, athletes, Nobel Laureates, doctors, scientists, diplomats, inspirational leaders, and concerned global citizens who are contributing their time, status and resources to the important cause of Peace in our complex and perilous global environment.

 

Venues

 

All venue sites will be linked to each other via satellite, enabling each city to view other events happening "live" in other parts of the world. These venue-to-venue uplinks will be shown on Jumbotron, Diamond Vision, and screens at all Primary and Secondary Host City venue sites.

 

The event is currently planned to be broadcast "live" from 15 primary host cities that include:

 

Sydney, Tokyo, Seoul, Beijing, Mumbai, Moscow, Dubai, Johannesburg, Cairo, Berlin, London, Rio de Janeiro, New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles; and other Secondary Host Cities to be announced.

 

I'm sure Céline will participate.. for one she has no show (she would still be on a holiday), plus it's for quite a good cause..

She got such a negative response because it was supposed to be LIVE. Celine sent a video. People didn't like that one bit and thought that if she wanted to be part of the event then she should have been there in person no via video.

Yeah when I heard about the booing I thought they were showing a live feed from Las Vegas I did not realize it was just taped. I could see a crowd not liking that. Although I think she had the right idea in participating for that event in Toronto it was definitely more of a metal and rock crowd and groups so I don't think she would have fit in even if she was there in person.

International Performers Sing for Peace

Chinese singer Zhang Liangying was among the international performers who recorded Give Your Love on Monday night, which is part of World Peace One's call for world peace.

 

Other singers and bands that have been invited to record Give Your Love include U2, Madonna, the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and Green Day, and many others. Zhang, third place winner in China's 2005 "Super Girl" singing contest, is the lone Asian female singer invited to participate so far.

 

World Peace One is a non-profit charitable organization that stresses a world community in a peaceful existence. The recording session time will take three days. Zhang participated in the first-day recording in Los Angeles.

 

According to World Peace One, Celine Dion will record the song in Las Vegas, and U2 will do it in Hawaii. Mariah Carey will also record it in New York on February 19 since she has a busy schedule doing a film. All the participating stars will record the song in various studios and send the demo to the producer to make up one song.

 

After the recording session, some performers are scheduled to participate in "A Call for an End to War" concert August 15. Organizers said the event should reach an audience of 3.5 billion worldwide through television, radio, Internet and cell phones.

She's the Queen of Vegas and always will be so I'm sure she'll take part from the main stage and not the Colosseum.
