Dionesque Posted January 29, 2007 at 10:46 PM Posted January 29, 2007 at 10:46 PM Hey!! Maybe it's strange but I realized I haven't sent any intro here.... *shame* I'm a member for over 1,5 years already and i'm taking part in some discussions but maybe there are still people who don't know me... Well, if I may... I'd like to drop a few words about me... My name's Barbara, I'm 27 now and I'm Polish but I moved to Germany in 2005. I'm married with Jan who is German and we've got a little daughter named Céline who turned 1 year old on 11th of January this year so just a few weeks ago! She's sooooo sweeeeet!!!! :D:D I'm Céline Dion fan since 1993 and collector since 1996 - I mean, i wanted to collect things on her earlier but in Poland you could hardly find a note on Céline before "FIY" album release... and in those days there were no singles in Polish stores (ok, there are still not many of them available but around 1996 and earlier the main audio device was a casette and CDs were too expansive...). Now I have quite big collection of CDs, singles, magazines and other stuff... just like many of you here - I'm collectiong almost everything on her! Unfortunately I have never met Céline in person and never seen her live on stage... but I hope this will change soon!! I was planning to go to her show in LV but as now it's like confirmed as for the world tour, I rather save my money to attend a few concerts here in Europe than got to just 1 or 2 shows in LV! You know, especially the flight prices from here are just killing me.... I can't wait to see her in Europe next year, no matter what country!!! Beside of Céline and her music and VOICE, I like some other artists like Lara Fabian, Mylene Farmer, Patricia Kaas, Jean-Jacques Goldman, isabelle Boulay, Natasha St-Pier, Patrick Bruel, Garou, Marco Borsato, Maarja-Liis Ilus, Matthias Reim, Yvonne Catterfeld, Linda Kiraly, Bianca Ryan, Tina Arena, Delta Goodrem, Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, Rosenstolz, some Polish artists (including Edyta Górniak, but only her voice - not personality), Laura Pausini and quite a lot of others... I just LOVE music but Céline is always my number 1 and I guess she will stay this forever for me!!!! Other things I like or am interested in: travels, foreign languages (I speak Polish, English, German, Hungarian, some French and a few words in several other languages...), penpsalling, babies, Anne Geddes photos, manga/anime, (audio)books, tea..... Well, I think that's all for now but of course if you have any questions concerning me, feel free to ask! i will also gladly get in touch with other fans and collectiors of Céline Dion!!! OK, let's go back to the discussions in this forum!.... Best greetings to all of you over there! blue.grave Posted February 2, 2007 at 04:41 PM Posted February 2, 2007 at 04:41 PM I'm glad to meet you. The funny thing is I was going to name my dauter that. But first I have to find the right woman to marry then. And the most important thing is, I hope she will love Celine Dion as much as I do. Dionesque Posted February 3, 2007 at 08:04 PM Author Posted February 3, 2007 at 08:04 PM Nice to meet you too, blue_grave!!! Wow, this pic you use in your avatar is one my most favourite pics ever of Céline!! She looks sooooo cute!!! I've just found this pic in a HQ quality here in the forum and am sooo happy!!! Actually my fave pics are those of younger Céline, all from Unison, TCOML and FIY photoshoots but this one is soooo sweetttt as well!! My husband is not such a big fan of Céline Dion like I am but he really likes her music as well and if I ever go to her concert, he will surely go with me! He even wanted to take me to LV to "A New Day..." but unfortunately he has forgotten that for me it's not that easy because I need a visa and he not... But I hope my dream of seeing Céline live and meeting her in person will still come true one day... I keep on dreaming!!... TommKat22 Posted February 8, 2011 at 03:51 AM Posted February 8, 2011 at 03:51 AM Awww, that's a very nice bio! You seem really nice and genuine! Were you able to finally see Celine Dion in concert?? I haven't yet either, so it's okay if you haven't! I also like Delta Goodrem! "In This Life" is my favorite song by her! Ok, take care now! Quote Tommy
Dionesque Posted February 8, 2011 at 03:20 PM Author Posted February 8, 2011 at 03:20 PM Hey Tommy, thank you for your nice words, aww!! Well, I guess you have the signatures disabled?? Because otherwise you wouldn't ask as in my signature I have my concerts listed, lol! Yeah, I managed to see Céline live, finally! And that been said, I did it 14 times in 2008, lol! I went to 10 shows in several European countries and to 4 shows in Montréal. In one month from now I'll be surely packing my rucksack already for the Vegas trip, yay! I'm going to attend the first 2 shows there! I just reread my intro and realized I missed a few important things back there, for example that one of my big big favourite female singers is Barbra Streisand! But yeah, as for the younger generation of singers, Delta is probably right after Céline on my list! Wish I can travel to Australia one day to see her live there as unfortunately she's not touring Europe and who knows whether she'll ever be doing so... She only did a few shows in the UK rather at the beginning of her career but I couldn't be there back than. Ever since, she didn't come over here to Europe. TommKat22 Posted February 8, 2011 at 11:52 PM Posted February 8, 2011 at 11:52 PM Aww, you're welcome! It's true though, you seem very nice! And, I'm glad you finally got to see Celine in concert. I'm sure watching her must have been spectacular! And 14 times??? That's amazing!! haha. I hope you enjoy seeing her in Vegas too! And aww, I hope you get to see Delta live! She's a really great singer as well! I think Leona Lewis, Jordin Sparks or Christina Aguilera would be one of my favorite younger generation singers though! Quote Tommy
Dionesque Posted February 9, 2011 at 08:59 PM Author Posted February 9, 2011 at 08:59 PM My wishlist of artists I'd love to see live (and haven't done so yet) includes most of all Delta, Barbra Streisand, Leona Lewis and Alicia Keys! I realized I wrote my intro at the beginning of 2007 so I didn't know Leona yet back than, lol! How time fliers?! Now I couldn't imagine my mp3 player without Leona's music, lol! I only got to know her thanks to "Bleeding Love" which became an instant huge fave of mine! So when there was an album release announced for her, I pre-ordered it from the UK right away! I didn't know it will be available in Germany later, guess they haven't planned but it was such a huge success in the UK so they couldn't resist foreign releases, lol! Still, I don't regret ordering it from the UK so I have the bonus track. I have the 1st album of Jordin Sparks, it's very nice. The 2nd I only have in mp3 format. As for Christina, I've never really been a fan of her but a few of her songs I love so much, esp. "Hurt" and "Beautiful". <3 An another huge favourite of mine is Vienna Teng! I only discovered her at the end of 2008 or beginning of 2009 so that's why she's not on that list above either. She comes from California, I guess, but she lives in NYC for a few years. She has Taiwanese orgins. I deffinitely recommend you to search for her music online and gove her a try. I've seen her live 3 times already, she has amazing voice and some great pipes, lol! She released 4 albums so far + 1 self-issued live album. As for first try, you may like to look for songs like "Harbor", "Gravity", "Antebellum", "City Hall"...If you try her music, let me know what are your impressions, ok? TommKat22 Posted February 10, 2011 at 02:18 AM Posted February 10, 2011 at 02:18 AM Alica Keys is really good too! And, I heard Bleeding Love way before it was popular in the States, and didn't care for it much then, but I ended up loving it after it had died down off of radio, ironically. I think Leona's second album is better than her first though, with great songs like "Happy," "I Got You," "Outta My Head," and "Lost Then Found." I think that Jordin's second album is better than her first as well!! And a good Christina song that you probably haven't heard is; "You Lost Me." It's so beautiful!! And I've never heard of Vienna Teng, but I may give her a try when I have more time on my hands! Quote Tommy
TommKat22 Posted February 10, 2011 at 02:18 AM Posted February 10, 2011 at 02:18 AM oops, I spelled Alicia wrong!! It's Alicia Keys, not Alica Keys lol Quote Tommy
Dionesque Posted February 10, 2011 at 11:04 PM Author Posted February 10, 2011 at 11:04 PM Thank you for the recommendation on Christina's song, will give it a try soon! I like her ballads and I love sad songs... "Outta My Head" is such a great tune, it really got stuck in my head after the 1st listening already, lol! Indeed, Leona's 2nd album is probably better as her 1st one, I guess it may have something to do with the fact that it includes way less covers but songs written especially for her and even co-written by her! Let me know what do you think on Vienna Teng when you've listened to some of her music, ok? I'm pretty curious! TommKat22 Posted February 11, 2011 at 04:34 AM Posted February 11, 2011 at 04:34 AM You're welcome! and yes, I love sad songs too, so I hope you like it! Tell me what you think! Yes, I like that Leona co-wrote most of her 2nd album too, and the songs are more personal to her than on her 1st album! And I did listen to Vienna Teng, her "Gravity" song! It was very good! She has a very pretty voice! I liked the piano in the song as well! Quote Tommy
