what i found out after checking many sources is that if we count the albums only then

 

madonna is no1

celine is no2

wh*** is no3

 

and if we consider the singles too its

 

madonna no1

wh**** no2

celine no3

 

(so its madonna :S)

maybe it has to do with the rhythm they're selling cds cause madonna and celine are more years in the show business than *****

Madonna is not the best selling singer, but neiher is Celine. Celine has sold more than Madonna. But the best selling female artists are actually 2 singers most of you probably never heard of: Mireille Mathieu (with over 250 million albums) and Nana Mouskouri (with around 300 million albums sold). Whitney, Mariah and Madonna don't come even close. Celine has sold 220 million so she's almost there .

It's not, do some research. I'd love Celine to be number one as well, but let's face it, music doesn't sell like it used to... And these women have careers spanning some 40 - 50 years... But Celine is best seller of the modern times

They said on E! when they talked about the richest women in entertainment. It may not be 220, but for sure is more than 175 million, cause that's she had the award in 2004, for selling more than 175 million copies. Anyway, who cares, it's about quality, not quantity. Madonna can sell 500 million for all I care, she still makes bad music....

And she's still on tour until 2008 You guys can believe what you want, but these two women sold hundreds of million of records in their time... Ask your parents about them, especially you guys from Europe. I know my mom told me about them when I was young. And here in Romania it was the comunist era, it was very hard to hear about any foreign artist. But they were that famous. Anyway, to get back to the point, it's really hard to prove any artist is best selling. There's too many data, and not enough interest to gather it Especially when it comes to old singers. Even Celine's numbers are just an estimate, even from the trustful sources. And, according to estimates, she sold 220 million. Even if it's only 175 like in 2004, it's still sooooo much. Especially when you think that all other artists her age had the huge help of MTV, which has significantly more viewers than Vh-1 or the like, which play Celine.

all we need is a nice 15 million for her english and a 5 million for the french record to blow wh**** and madonna back btw i think madonna deserves some respect (more than wh**** anyway)

 

warner announced in 2005 that madonna's sold 200million albums and madonna's claimed 250+ million of total sales.we can't know for sure i guess...

sometimes it feels as if people in this forum care more about Celines record sales and bank account than that shes acctually a good singer. I honestly think that many here care more than Céline on these issues...

Whitney

Madonna

Mariah

 

Others are not on same level like 4 ladies above. Celine fans will tell its Celine bestselling, Whitney fans will tell its Whitney bestselling, Madonna fans will tell its Madonna bestselling, Mariah fans will tell its Mariah bestselling.

 

And i dont care about it!!!
