Show Review, January 26th. 2007.

I will begin upon walking in to the Coliseum. The first thing I noticed was the Wax figure of Céline was missing. Perhaps I joked, it was moved to Madame Tussauds LV Wax Museum next to Simons wax figure. :giggle:

Prior to entering the inner-sanctum, my wife and I listened to Céline warm up. I always love to hear her do that. I just wish I could see through the crack in the door better.

After being escorted to our seats, (orch4 BB 405-406) my wife and I were asked if we would like to pose for a picture. How much I said? The reply, “$40 if you like them.” I said, “Okay, lets do it!” :D So we got up and sat on the stage and the photographer took several shots which became available after the show in album form. Finally, someone had a good idea since you can’t take cameras in to the show. This made a great memento of this visit to A New Day.

The show finally began with the breaking of the mirror, and as always, excitement raced hearing Céline’s voice for the first time that evening. :in_love: I love the opening song. The piano and Céline’s voice always sends shivers through me.

I loved the new order of songs since I was there last August. I think they did a fantastic job improving on a good thing. The show flowed much better than it ever did. The dancers costume upgrades were very nice. Céline’s new costumes were fantastic and very sexy keeping in mind she is after all, a mommy, not a pariah, err Mariah. :msn-wink:

Céline had a minor microphone problem when she began to cheer on the audience, but she overcame it like a pro by holding up her microphone and shrugging her shoulders. Then all was well again. I also noticed that Céline does not do her “where are the musicians” and “beautiful voices” routines anymore. That’s cool, more time for music.

I was absolutely blown away by “River Deep Mountain High.” My gosh! That mini skirt and the way she danced was soooo cool and sexy. :in_love: :in_love: She went about as far as one could go and still have her family respect her. WOW. You gotta see this one. It made the show for me.

As was mentioned in other recent reviews, Céline’s legs looked firm and fantastic. I almost leaned over to my wife and said “Wow! Do you see those legs? But I caught myself. FF for a minute. The next morning at breakfast, out of the blue, my wife said “Can you believe the great legs Céline has? I replied, “Really, yes I guess they were pretty nice.” So we had a several minute conversation about her legs. So satisfying. I wanted to tell someone about them. I am glad my wife felt the same way. I didn’t feel like I was cheating on her by liking another woman’s, you know. :innocent:

Back to the show.

During the show they were still filming for the DVD. Several audience shots, River Deep Mountain high was filmed, the giving of the rose, and some “in the wings” pickups of Céline after the show. In particular they were filming Céline as she cheered on the dancers taking there bows. That little scene ended with someone placing Céline’s robe on her shoulders and walking off with her. Touching.

The Rose (not Bette Midler)

The woman who received the rose tonight was right in front of me. (a great position to be in) Her story was this.

Her and her husband at the last minute decided to see the show. There happened to be two front row tickets available (as there often are just before the show) so they bought them. They were lucky to get front row, but having sat there once myself, row BB is better. Especially if the person in front of you gets the rose as did the woman in front of me. This woman was so enthusiastic during the show, but in a nice way. Céline picked up on it immediately, so she gave her the rose.

These people were not TC members, nor forum members. Just ordinary folk who love Céline. It’s not always the crazy fan who yells the loudest, waves the fastest or whom says I love you Céline, that gets the rose.

As Céline approached the woman, gracefully walking down the steps of the stage, she handed her the rose and hugged her placing her right hand around the woman’s left shoulder around to the back. Céline’s head and chin rested on the other shoulder, slightly tilted. (freaking 12 inches a way from me! What beautiful skin and sparkles all over her chest and eyes.) Céline then looked up at me, momentarily (right in my eyes) :in_love: , closed her eyes and squeezed out her hug. ( I need a cigarette) :giggle:

One thing I did notice about the kind of person Céline is inside, is this. After she hugged the woman, she gazed over to the woman’s husband and respectfully, acknowledged his presence by bowing her head (and closing her eyes) momentarily. I will always remember the angelic look on Céline’s face when she bowed to the man. WOW. What a graceful woman! That acknowledgment is as good as a hug.

After the show ended, we headed over to pick up our photos. They were presented to us in this beautiful album of blue simulated leather with the A New Day logo and voice print on the cover, along with the standard ‘Celine Dion’ text logo (I will upload a copy of this later) When you open the album, our portrait was on the left in an oval vignette and Céline’s portrait was on the right with her signature etched in at the bottom of the album. Well worth the $40.

Well this was a short trip for us this time in order to keep expenses down. So we headed back to Northern California the next morning. (Saturday) But not till we took a little drive out to the lake at Henderson for brunch at the Ritz.

As a side note: My wife and I had rented a car to drive to Vegas to see Céline. One of those nice new 2007 Lexus ones. Real sharp! And a lot of fun to drive. It was great shooting through the desert, and rolling up to a valet and dropping off the car. You feel like a high roller. If you gonna spend $450 bucks on tickets, you might as well go all out. :bye1:  So :in_love:

Well, you're so right! Her legs are so beautiful! In For Keeps i read that she gets a treatment for her legs after the show. ( there's also a picture of it) and with all the dancing on a stage like that.. her legs stay in shape! She's a lucky woman at that age to not have varicose veins especially after having a baby!

Hopefully my legs are like that too when i am 38! :whistling:

Ahhh Keny, now you're talking my language! That's another thing that's much cheaper stateside to us brits - the rental cars you can get. So far I've done most of the Chrysler family, Mustangs, T-Birds etc, usually have the Sebring convertible, your roads are amazing to drive...

But because it was winter time in January (obviously) I had a sexy Chrsyler 300. Maaan, that ride was pimpin' [i said that with my best American accent :giggle: ] B)

That's something I'd like to try, but I don't have a driver's license and won't have one by the time I go to Vegas so that's not possible to happen!

I really enjoyed your review. It's nice that you can have your picture taken inside the theatre. They didn't do that when I was there in June. Before they would take a picture in the lobby against the wall or more recently with the wax statue. I wonder if they moved the statue for good?
