I was speechless after this- it's much more moving than the English version- such a great song- and anyone who doubts her ability to sing live nowadays (ok, this was a couple of years back) is mistaken. She's the best.

 

Will we ever see it in a proper recording?

OMG! I think that has got to be one of her BEST live duets ever! Man, I'd kill for her to sing that live and not playback. :sigh: Perhaps on the upcoming tour we'll get it?

I loved this song in French long before Celine recorded it. It's still one of my favourite songs. I adore Daniel Levi's voice.

L'envie d'aimer and The greatest reward are two different songs for me, I can't even compare. And I love both the same way because both have very different but very important meanings.

I remember when I defended Céline on that performance but she was just slaughtered all the way! Especially by the French fans back then. OMG it was like the ultimate end of Céline Dion.

 

Anyway I loved it too, stevo! She was so raw and sponteanously joined in! It wasn't planned at all yet she delivered a very fine performance. That's how the best things are made - out of nothing.

She's just an incredible singer...it was the spontaneity of it that was so good- walking up in her bare feet and nailing it...so raw as you said. I wanna give her hugs for long time!!

Apparently she never recorded it in French, just English and this guy recorded the original in French. It's a shame Celine never recorded it in French though- I think it's beautiful.

this has to be her worst performance ever or atleast one of the worst...i can only compare it to her performance on oprah in 2002 .

that last note was sooooo pitchy and the male singer blew her all the way , he had a much more powerful voice and celine sounded weak and raw...

She wasn't weak at all! She did do a lil squeak at the very end tho...I still love it. And on Oprah 2002 I think her voice was much more noticeably fragile- like she was scared to try those notes 'like old times'

this particular performance on oprah reminded me some of the lastest attempts by whitney

She sounded the worst on Rosie in 2002! But still finy by me.

 

Overall her 2002's performances were really shaky and you saw she didn't take care of her voice. Now she sounds really trained again - she has a lot of practice in Vegas after all which is doing her well.
