thevoice Posted December 29, 2006 at 11:51 PM Posted December 29, 2006 at 11:51 PM from E! One performer who didn't have to go very far to fill the coffers was Celine Dion, whose residency at Las Vegas' Caesars Palace nabbed her sixth place, with $78.1 million in ticket sales at an average cost of $135 per ticket. so celine has the 6th most successful tour of the year...BTW the rolling stones r at no 1 as usual and barbra is at no 2!! smw Posted December 30, 2006 at 04:15 AM Posted December 30, 2006 at 04:15 AM Pretty amazing considering she doesn't tour.....AND she hasn't had a real hit in the U.S. in years. ...people just want to witness that voice live! Quote

celinesounds Posted December 30, 2006 at 05:15 AM Posted December 30, 2006 at 05:15 AM Could be better at least top 5 not top 6 Quote #FREEJAVITO
Céline's Blues Posted December 30, 2006 at 07:40 AM Posted December 30, 2006 at 07:40 AM She won't be actually any higher next year as she's performing less and less. But still an amazing achievement. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg
CSCfan Posted December 30, 2006 at 09:19 AM Posted December 30, 2006 at 09:19 AM It also depends on other tours (if there are less bigger ones next year, she may chart higher).. Teodora Posted December 30, 2006 at 11:52 AM Posted December 30, 2006 at 11:52 AM It's amazing considering she sings in such a small theatre compared to the others. Of course, she does work harder and the ticket prices are higher. But this is great, I'm very proud of her, to be able to have so many people come to her, when she had no album relasese lately and no hit since Have You Ever Been In Love, three years ago. She's truly THE STAR of the world. There's no one else that could pull this off. I'm sure Barbra wouldn't have made it if she had a show like Celine's. Her luck was that she toured and she made remarks about Bush to get attention Quote

max24 Posted December 31, 2006 at 01:19 PM Posted December 31, 2006 at 01:19 PM Hi,some time ago I made a Wikipedia page about A New Day... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_New_Day... I can't find infos about number of sold out shows in 2003, 2004 and 2005. Does anyone know those numbers? Quote
Ted Posted December 31, 2006 at 03:48 PM Posted December 31, 2006 at 03:48 PM Hi,some time ago I made a Wikipedia page about A New Day... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_New_Day... I can't find infos about number of sold out shows in 2003, 2004 and 2005. Does anyone know those numbers? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I got this from Celine's Maniacs:According to Billboard, Céline's shows from November 22nd to Nov. 26th are at the SECOND position of this week's Billboard Boxscore Concert Grosses (the chart of concert grosses in the WORLD). Gross Sales: US$ 2,758,242; Shows/ Sellouts: 4 out of 5, Attend/Capacity: 20,234 out of 20,740. With these shows, Céline's sold-out shows are 418 out of 596 performed shows.Note that shows that 100 or less then 100 under sold are not sell-outs! I hope that helps. je t'aime Posted January 1, 2007 at 02:45 AM Posted January 1, 2007 at 02:45 AM That's a good spot for her to be at, but I wouldn't mind seeing her higher. Quote http://www.tedmills.com/images/celinemonkeyass.jpg
max24 Posted January 1, 2007 at 10:48 AM Posted January 1, 2007 at 10:48 AM (edited) Sorry, the link was valid, Here is the right one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Celin...n_concert_toursafter that click on the A New Day... at the bottom. I'm talking about year summary, not a weekly sales...Look at these three columns: Year | Tour Gross Sales | Sold Out Shows 2003 | $80.5 million | n/a 2004 | $80.4 million | n/a 2005 | $81.3 million | n/a 2006 | $78.1 million | 72 / 145 (49,7%) TOTAL | $320.3 million | 421 / 592(71,1%) Does anyone know how many shows were dold out in 2003, 2004 and 2005?
