I'm in ABSOLUTELY LOVE with her music! She's got such a simple voice and is probably is the BEST pianist that ever lived!!! She sang really popular songs like "A Thousand Miles," "Ordinary Day," and "White Houses." Vanessa's only had two albums, "Be Not Nobody" and "Harmonium." She recently moved to The Inc. Records from A&M Records this past summer and her new album is scheduled for sometime next spring called, "Heroes and Thieves." The track "Heros and Thieves" is said to be, "about how we don't know who comes in our lives, whether they be good or bad." Very basic (no wall-to-wall sound), but very melodic and deep as well. The only complain I have is that it's way too short!! Does anyone know if more songs recorded, but didn't make the cut? Also, does anyone know when Vanessa is going on tour to promote this album? I kinda interested in seeing her perform this songs!! Thanks for the help!! =)Alicia Quote

The album sounded completely under-produced, as if the whole thing were a shabby demo tape. I hate to say it because Vanessa'a last two albums were two of my favorite CD's of all time--by any artist. The songs on ROTR had amazingly high potential, had Vanessa signed with a major record lable who could produce an album with a "full" sound. As far as I know, she's currently touring to promote the record but I wouldn't expect anything big, considering this was a small independent release. Hopefully Vanessa finds her way with any future releases... she seems to complain a lot about working with major record lables but there's no doubt that those albums sound much better. I hate to say it, but I'm not a very big fan on ROTR. Nice to meet another fan on here, nonetheles. To me, ROTR sounded something like Joni Mitchell's folk albums with some over-dubbing. I actually thought that less was better. But who-knows. Do you know where she is having her concerts? I heard one is in NYC, which is way too far. I wasn't expecting anything big coming from the fact that she has not really made it on the radios beyond her debut album. I hoping at a couple college auditoriums for her tour in the States though would work. So only 10 songs created/pulled to make the album,eh? Sounds like real old school...10 songs per album! Haha Hopefully, she does find a major label that she can work well with because she is a great talent that isn't getting noticed! And I think she is much better than most of the popular artists out there, like Katy Perry.Alicia Quote
