It starts an hour earlier, so does that mean it finishes earlier or does it go on till midnight? Did anyone go to last year's New Year show? Were there any special guests? Scully Dion Posted January 2, 2007 at 08:38 PM Author Posted January 2, 2007 at 08:38 PM Happy New Year! Well, that was a trip and a half. Flew all the way from England on standby tickets. Got to Chicago ok, then the fun began. Every single flight I listed for to get to Vegas was either full or over sold. Ended up spending the night in Chicago then had to buy completely new tickets to get to Vegas via Phoenix. Got to Vegas at 6.30pm had an our to get out of the airport, pick up a car and floor it to Caesar's. The car rental messed up the booked, so then ran to another company to get me a car.. tick tock... by finally which time it was 7.25pm. Eek! Then the panic of getting to the strip which was not so easy seeing as the whole of the strip was blocked off! Getting into Caesar's was the next task, they were only letting people in who were staying there or had reservations - good job I had picked up my tickets the last time I was in Vegas - otherwise I would have had no proof! Was still in the clothes I had wore to fly to the states in, but at that point of the day I just wanted to get into the Colosseum seeing as the show had already started. I missed the first few songs, but I was just so happy I got there at all, I didn't let that bother me. So there I was, row 3 and Celine saw me climbing over the people to get to me seat - hope she didn't think I was rude showing up late! So I waved hello to her and she smiled at me. I tell you what, I absolutely LOVED the new setlist!!! She spoke a little about being in Vegas for 5 years and that that night was THE NIGHT lol - its always THE NIGHT with Celine! River Deep Mountain Hight - where do I begin? That song really rocks! It looks like she has a "Celine Army" on the stage, all the dancers - and the dress she wore! Wow, that was a stunning performance indeed! A whole row of stage llights came down from the ceiling to the stage - it looked amazing. It was a great night, over so quick though - probably cause I missed the beginning... :-( Afterwards I went to Pure where Britney was hosting the night. It was great meeting some fans after the show! And can't wait to see you all again in 2 weeks! I missed my airline's flight, but luckily United were kind enough to accept the standby ticket I had - even got business class!
