Compilations with early songs.....so many.....why?

I wonder how is it possible that there were so many compilations with Celine's early French material in the '90?

They were issued under many different titles and by many VARIOUS MUSIC LABELS all over the world.

How could all those labels have the rights to release albums with Celine's early songs? Why they weren't released only by Sony Music and only under one title?

Because they're released to make money lol And fans sometimes buy those kind of stuff thinking it's a different cd or record and it's the same thing.

But do they have the right to do it? They are not Celine's labels...

That's the point, max! Sony doesn't have the FULL rights to Céline's early songs so they are available for purchase by various music labels throughout the world - and they keep releasing them because Céline = easy money. It's a simple marketing strategy to make some money.

Well, the made a real mess. There were compilations with the same tracklist but:

1) they were issued by various labels

2) they had different titles

3) they had different covers

4) there were diiferent release dates

 

I think it would be easier to sell the rights to those songs to SONY, so they could make few good compilations.

So they'd get little money only for once.

Bellamy is right: They don't want to sell the rights to one label and only getting money once, they want to see money, as much as possible!

 

It's not nice for the fans, but they don't care 'bout that.. 'Alas..

 

Altough I've got to say that I onl have Du Soleil Au Coeur from Sony and no other "early-compilations". For me it's about quality not quantity, and for once sony has done their job well.

I think the new releases are not "normal" albums.
