New Downloads

This is probably the wrong section to put this, but I couldn't find another. Ever since the site changed a few things after the anniversary, all of the downloads have been, at least for me, for RealPlayer. I download the clip, then when I go to play it realplayer says it needs to download update. It tries then says this particular update is not available. Can anyone tell me why or help me fix this? I usually use Windows Media. I haven't been able to view any of the new "gifts" we recieved or anything else from this site. HELP!!!

I've been experiencing the same problems-the new videos are m2v files which player and media doesn't recognize-it did in the past.I tried to install codecs and other software with no success. I don't want to install serice pack 2 for Windows XP bec. for many it's been a nightmare.

 

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated

you need to instal POWER DVD or DivX player cause .m2v work only with poxer dvd codecs

I have found that if you rename the M2V files to Mpg they should play normally, it works for me anyway. It's definately worth a try!

The downloads have been in .m2v since the beginning of this forum, we didn't change anything for the anniversay that would affect how the videos are played. It's an issue on your end. You don't need XP Service Pack 2 to play them, all you need are the proper codecs. If you have powerdvd or windvd installed, there shouldn't be any problems I strongly advise against using realplayer, it's a very bad piece of software.

 

Google "media player classic" it has many codecs built-in.

I downloaded DivX player and it says that it's not a valid video to play. Do I need a certain type of Windows Media Player? I tried VLC, that won't play it either, and I tried Media Player Classic, won't play. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? I miss my Celine ~

Just recently, right after I made my donation to the site. I downloaded the HD performance on Jay Leno. That didn't work and nothing has worked since. It must be on my end, I just don't how to fix it. Not very savvy with this particular process.

I have tried all that you have suggested and it STILL won't work. Could it have anything to do with the Firefox Internet Explored? That's the only thing that I can think of that I've been doing differently.

Try to uninstall ALL codecs, video players from your computer, restart, then reinstall Media Player Classic. It's strange that VLC doesn't work because it has its own set of codecs and should not interfere with others. What videos could you play without problems?

I've been able to play every video until recently. The first thing I tried to download and didn't work was "10 ans deja" "In some small way" jay leno, "Celine on CBC News" "The Dion Family with Mamon", pretty much everything up until about a month or so ago. The only thing that is different on my computer is the fact that Firefox is my internet explorer now. Sorry to keep bothering you, but I'm frustrated that I can't get any thing new.

I know I haven't, but maybe one of my kids did and I wasn't aware. I'll go through all my programs and delete everything that's new. I'll get back to you if that doesn't work. If you think of something new, please let me know. I'm starting to feel frustrated and really want this to be fixed already Thanks for all of your feedback.
