Clay Aiken silences Kelly on her show

That was one typical American show! Clay Aiken was the co-host of the day on Kelly and while she didn't let him ask any questions he put his hand on her mouth and then she said (prolly in jest): "Who knows where that hand's been" LOL!

Then Rosie blew it out of proportion on The View where she alluded that KElly's actions were homophobic.

Now I love Clay...but he was pretty obnoxious on R&K though...I mean he kept interrupting and the whole hand on the mouth thing was really rude. I`m going to have to go with Kelly on this one.

The View of a gay woman. The View of a black woman. The View of Kelly Ripa. Each person has a viewpoint...

Based on what Kelly said in the phone interview about Clay not even THANKING her - I think that's quite un-Southern... and especially since this is the SEASON of THANKSGIVING. I think Kelly is being fair because she got a negative vibe from Clay from not only the hand-over-mouth, but other things surrounding his guest appearance.

I can see Kelly's point honestly. Despite the fact that she's a motor mouth, and probably was gabbing more than her fair share, he didn't need to put his hand there. It was a bit unprofessional I think. I'm sure he didn't mean it to be anything but sort of a joke, it wasn't the right thing to do.

 

And I cannot see how Rosie could take that as a homophobic comment. It doesn't matter who it is, you don't want some random strangers hand over your mouth. If she's referring to the implication that Clay's hand might have been around other guy's naughty bits, they could have just as easily been around a girls' naughty bits and either way you don't want someone's hand on your mouth if they've touched ANYONE'S naughty bits, which I don't even think Kelly was referring to anyway.

Never in my life have I seen the phrase "naughty bits"....not to mention it being said so many times in one sentence!! hahahahahahaha

 

But, yeah, Rosie looks silly making this into a homo thing--but hey, we're all talking about it! So obviously she did what she set out to do. But I love Rosie--especially back when she had her own show, I never missed it!

That's different, Kelly and Regis are great close friends, Kelly barely knows Clay. And he was being quit rude during the whole show, I was appauld at the "jokes" he was making referring to Kelly. She might have made some in return, but what else was she to do? I love Rosie, but was dissapointed how she turned it into a homophobic issue. I totally agree with Kelly, and besides the show is called "Regis and Kelly" not "Clay and Kelly" So Kelly was certainly entitled to take over the show and ask as many questions as she pleased. Clay somehow thought he had a right to try and steal the show away. I know if I was a co-host with her I would have just enjoyed listening to her ask questions but anyway, that is my opinion And btw, I'm very proud of Kelly for taking intiative to call The View and defend herself after Rosie started making false accusations. I am also pleased that Rosie and Kelly acted professional about it, and in the end still showed respect for each other.
