For the 2007 Grammys in the category "Best pop collaboration with vocals" for either "I believe in you" with Il Divo or "If I ruled the world" with Tony Bennett..

 

But considering the Grammys virutally ignored Celine since 98' Milli Vinilli has a higher chance of a nomination this year

I do not think she should be nominated for either of those songs.....I do, however, think her time will come again with her next English release.

A Fact:

In order for someone to be nominated for any major award, there needs to be a nominator or a "for your consideration" document sent forward to the nomination committee.

 

 

Now... my opinion:

Although most Grammy Awards are given to a "best-selling" record for a certain annual time-frame, I DON'T THINK that any of Celine's records and releases have been sent to the nomination committee for their consideration. Maybe it's not that Celine's left in the shadow; it's maybe a neglect from the side of Celine's.

 

So don't blame the Grammy committees. They LOVE CELINE...

The thing is I Believe In You won't get nominated for obvious reasons. Can you imagine the whole music industry present at the ceremony applauding her for recording such forgettable syropy blandness?! That would be akward.

If I Ruled The World would have had a chance to have gotten nominated if it had been released as a single from Tony Bennett's album and recieved decent promotion on radios. I'd bet his album will get a nomination.

I haven't really thought of it like that. I guess I've always convinced myself that she is so consumed in Las Vegas with such a HUGE job, that she literally does not have time to do much else. For instance, she will not do talk shows these days unless they go to her. And, of course, she has nothing to promote...other than the Vegas show(which gets plenty of promotion just by word of mouth).

 

But, yeah, I think that makes sense. To keep a low profile, then suddenly be everyhwere again. That way people won't look at her as a has-been....but rather as "she's back and better than ever"!
