babymonkey Posted October 30, 2006 at 07:48 PM Posted October 30, 2006 at 07:48 PM I've been sick the last while, I've been in and out of hospital more times than I can count and have found myself questioning many theological issues. The one that has interested me most is the idea of creationism. I have read numerous reports and papers on the subject, both for and against and to tell you the God's honest truth (hmm... ironic) I think the whole idea is absolute bulls**t. I know there is some scientific evidence that could be interpreted to support the theory but it really is tenuous at best. Here is a site that supports the idea of a young earth and creationism. They give some "facts" in support of it... most of which can be instantly dismissed as crap with no scientific basis, but it does give some insight into the people who believe such things. I'm not trying to insult anyone who does believe in these theories, I'd just like to get a better understanding of their beliefs. Céline's Blues Posted October 30, 2006 at 08:04 PM Posted October 30, 2006 at 08:04 PM Well, babymonkey I wish you all the best. Good to see you around here. Martin Rees in his books about cosmos and recently in this FABULOUS three parts Channel 4 documentary "What we still don't know" (especially in the third piece) talks about creationism and science and how these two may not really be all that contradictory. http://www.channel4.com/science/microsites...know/index.html Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg
