I know the content of both versions are pretty much the same, but I guess as I understand better the English language, it's also the one I think is deeper... On the other hand I think Celine's voice in PQTME is better than in ITWIT and I love Jean Jacques Goldman... But I'll go with ITWIT! What about you? It's much deeper and much more romantic then the English version. The lyrics are different in the french version which I think makes it soooo much deeper in meaning than the English one. But "If that's what it takes" is still so beautiful and one of my all-time fave Celine Songs. It is the most beautifully crafted song Céline has ever sung and to be honest I think the English version is an abomination. The music in the English version annoys me to, it's too synthy and soft like the whole FIY album, and the lyrics are no where near as strong or poignant as the French version.
