As far as I know, there were no such cases with Celine's shows.

as far as I know, Celine has never cancled concerts because of low-amount of ticket sold. She has however canceled a concert during the Falling Into You Concert in England because she had a stomach problem. Than again during her Let's Talk About Love tour when Rene was diagnoised with cancer.

The LTAL concert in Switzerland was not cancelled but it was re-arranged to a different format because the stadium could not fit in the giant heart stage. So they used the end stage like they did for the FIY tour.

Is this a "news" coming from the Mariah Carey Thai forum? :mdr: It's true that several concerts in Mimi tour were cancled due to low amount of sold-tickets. :giggle:

I remember reading somewhere that the San Diego show during the Taking Chances World Tour that was cancelled due to Céline getting sick was never rescheduled due to low ticket sales. I'm not sure if this is correct information...I'm just stating what I read.

She sold a little more than half the tickets for the concert in Hong Kong in 1999 because of the recession. That prompted the Bee Gees to postpone their concert.

Some 20,000 tickets had been sold out of a capacity of 35,000.

Hong Kong Standard Jan. 26, 1999

High notes at Kai Tak spectacular

STORY: MORE than 20,000 people crowded onto the tarmac at Kai Tak as French-Canadian diva Celine Dion took them on a flight of fancy with her stratospheric warbling.

Beneath the now scaffolded control tower, the high-flying star belted out the poignant love songs which have catapulted her to international fame.

``Fasten your seat-belts, I hope there will not be any turbulence tonight, this is going to be a smooth ride,'' the 30-year-old singer entreated the audience seated on collapsible chairs outside the now empty terminal buildings.

Promoters DKA Asia were billing the concert _ part of Dion's ``Let's Talk About Love'' tour _ as a one-off at the old Kai Tak Airport, and said earlier some 20,000 tickets had been sold out of a capacity of 35,000.

On a huge stage flanked by two massive screens, Dion was greeted by thunderous applause as she appeared bathed in blue lights and smoke.

Her voice soared above the vast site with crowd-pleasers from her most popular albums Falling Into You and Let's Talk About Love.

There was even a nod to her roots when Dion, who hails from Quebec and whose first language is French, sang the title song from her album S'il Suffisait d'Aimer (If it was enough to love).

With clever video clips allowing her to sing a duet with Barbra Streisand and the Bee Gees, and a nifty piece of footwork for a rendition of Jive Dancing and Saturday Night Fever, she had the near-capacity crowd begging for more.

She brought a nearly two-hour show to a close with a single encore of My Heart Will Go On _ the theme song to the blockbuster Titanic.

The verdict was unanimous: ``Fantastic.''

I wish I were in the Hong Kong concert in 1999... I was not able to go since I was a poor 11-year-old boy at that time  Edited by chinchin_dreampalace

It was probably a combo of high ticket prices and the fact that tickets went on sale so close to the event's date. (San Diego wasn't one of the original cities scheduled.)

You're somewhat right about your comment. I came from the Philippines and then migrated to America when I was 5. You're definitely right about the people from Phillipines not having enough money to pay for tickets(which is sad). However, I hope your first statement that says that many people aren't interested in Celine :( . Anyway, nice to find out that there's a person from the Philippines who's on this forum. OK peace out kababayan ko! :bye1:

Congratulations, Celine, Rene, and RC on the TWINS!!!!! <3 <3 <3

"I looked in the audience. There were no strangers. Everybody was singing and cheering and hugging. That was a beautiful picture to look at."

"I want to be more successful as a mother than I am in show business."

"I don't listen to my own music at home."

"On her baby: He's 16 months old and he eats soap and paper. What's going on with kids?"

"On her son again: I smell his feet; they have a scent that's a bit like vinegar."

"As long as my fans enjoy my music and I'm happy in myself, my life and my music, that's all the truly concerns me."

"I am the youngest of 14 children, so I rarely got a chance to speak. If I have an opportunity for talking, I talk."

"So far so good. We take it a day at a time."

Excuse me??????

Beyonce charged as much as $500 for her concert here (The B Experience) and we were her biggest paying crowd EVER.

The Phils. may be a third world country but its elite and upper middle-class are very much capable of paying top money to see world-class shows.

Beyonce charged $500 for a handful of tickets, the majority of her tickets were extremely low priced.

I've never come across a Celine show being cancelled due to low ticket sales - sometimes however, a promoter will be forced to cancel a show citing low ticket sales as the issue - its just the standard line and isn't always the case

Céline Dion, music's greatest ever singer, the biggest-selling Canadian artist of all-time and most successful female live act ever - what's not to love?
