Celine has recorded a new song as a tribute to Italian composer Ennio Morricone. Quincy Jones produced this new song entitled, "I Knew I Loved You." This was Celine's first time working with the legendary producer! The song is based on Morricone's theme music from the movie 'Once Upon A Time in America,' which was originally released in 1984. Award winning writers Alan and Marilyn Bergman wrote the lyrics for this new song. This tribute CD will be released in Italy. Other select areas of Europe may release it as well. The composer’s North American concert debut will take place at Radio City Music Hall on February 3 where he will be conducting the symphonic version of some of the music from We All Love Ennio Morricone He will lead an ensemble of more than 200 musicians from the Rome Sinfonietta Orchestra and the Canticum Novum Singers of New York.

不要忘了这是 Ennio Morricone 的电影音乐，当然是这种经典管弦乐。另据报道，这首歌也将收录入 今年十月即将发行的新英文专辑中。QUINCY JONES 也将参与 Celine 的新英文专辑制作，不知是指这首歌，还是也参与别的歌曲的制作。

已获得官方确认，Celine 将出席本月 25 日的 Oscars 颁奖典礼并演唱 "I Knew I Loved You"。

LOS ANGELES —  Celine Dion will unveil her new song, "I Knew I Loved You," during a tribute to Italian composer Ennio Morricone at this year's Academy Awards, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said Wednesday.

 

Morricone, who will receive an honorary Oscar at the Feb. 25 awards, orchestrated the song for 1984's "Once Upon a Time in America," directed by Sergio Leone.

 

Songwriters Alan and Marilyn Bergman wanted to write lyrics for the song, but the film's producers felt none were needed. The Bergmans got their chance with Dion's version.

 

Morricone, 78, has received original score Oscar nominations for "Days of Heaven," "The Mission," "The Untouchables," "Bugsy" and "Malena."

 

The new rendition of "I Knew I Loved You," produced by Quincy Jones, will appear on Morricone's upcoming greatest-hits album and on Dion's forthcoming record.
