No French subtitles!! 

 

For once they should know how it is to not understand a word. We NEVER get English subtitles for the French DVD releases even though there are more fans understanding English than French. I was very disapointed when buying the On Ne Change Pas with the DVD and no English subtitles at all. Why does it seem as if all her work is for the French people and only some is for the rest of us....?

oh i think no one mention this i'm watching ACDS dvd and suddenly this comes to my head..

and it's that they should have the making of the AND dvd not just like shooting of the show but from the beginning to end of shooting, like how they prepare for it, the cameras and musician's and so on, also like how they add effects, sound mixing editing, and things and in between they can have like those peple who work on the dvd talking

These are my ideas. I will love Sony so much if they made my wishes come true, at least 50%

 

I think this DVD would make like The Lord of the Ring 12-Disc Edition or Titanic 3-Disc Edition, with the case outside and digipack package inside the case. It will be the GREATEST Celine Dion's Collection that Sony ever made.

otherwise if it's not then it's really a pity not release the one filmed in 2003...

 

and for disc 6 i don't think we need extra disc for multi angles

multi angles can just be in the show disc...

Btw, to be honest, I don't think they filmed one in 2004 (with long brown hair, before the changes in August '06). Only bits & pieces for new trailers..

The covers should be blue for blu-ray though. I don't think they recorded a full show for A&E Biography special. It's not like the camera angels/movements were professional enough. Just out of curiosity, have you seen blu-ray in person?

Yeah, that's a major issue. Blu-Ray players are also quite expensive (perhaps not in 5 years, but now in the next years they are)..

 

Oh and perhaps both Blu-Ray & HD-DVD won't even make it. Today I read that a "laser DVD" or something like that is in the works and that it's even better than both those formats.

Same to DVD 10 years ago. Actually DVD is more expensive than BD when it first released. And SACD, LD, even VCD... Celine and A New Day worth to be one of the first show release in HD format.

Twister has been released as the showcase of the DVD technology. Céline should be the first one BD reference disk - especially considering EVERYTHING is there in the Colosseum. The sound, lights, equipment. This is THE ultimate chance to dicument Céline's show for the aliens!!!!!!!!!!!

That "bubble format idea" is actually more advanced than Blu-Ray/HD-DVD.. and it's one format only.

 

BD/HDDVD aren't out and they're already planning their successor: HVD (Holographic Versatile Disc).

You guys are forgetting about Sony's biggest weapon - the Playstation 3. This could make or break Sony. As for the high cost of BD players, remember the prices of the first generation dvd players? If my memory serves me right, it was in the $500-$600 range. Nowadays, one can be had for as low as $30. Surely, the price of BD players will drop as HD is slowly being adopted in households.

 

Mathias, it will be years before HDV can see the light of day. They are expensive and not suitable for mass production. BD and HDDVD are already out, where have you been? There are over 100 released titles for both.

They always need to develop techlogy years before mass production. Just like CD, DVD, BD... We're talking about the best available consumer format right now. Also Blu-Ray/HD-DVD are 2 formats just like BETA/VHS.

 

And A New Day would have a DVD release anyway. BD is only for the fans who loves HD and can afford it. And it's also should be like a HD tech demo from SONY. Just like they release All The Way SACD as early as 02/01/2000, when almost no one has SACD player at that time, and still only few players can play SACD even now. BD is in much better situation.

 

BTW, when Divas 1998 released in DVD, how many people have DVD player at that time?

That's right. I think there should be two available versions to buy: DVD and Blu-ray. I agree, HD is cool giving opportunity to see everything bigger and better with nicer sound and effects, but i hope that as soon as blu-ray will be released, the prices of players will be available for everybody like dvd players today... unless sony wanted to make great money one again, what is more possible.

 

ps. ...and if you want to watch the blu-ray, you must also have bought a HDTV that are VERY expensive... I know there are TVs (from Sony) that are High - Definition Ready, but they are only ready. They would play it but not in HD because they have worse resolution... the effect would be the same. Only more space ondisc...

High - Definition Ready doesn't mean it can't play HD video in HD resolution. High - Definition Ready means there's no bulid-in HD TV tuner. There're many large HD TV within $1000 now.

"HD Ready" refers to any display that is capable of accepting and displaying a high definition signal at either 720p, 1080i or 1080p using a component video or digital input, and does not have a built-in HD-capable tuner.

Maybe something fun, something not completely related to the show. Maybe "Celine's guide to Vegas". Celine could show us what she'd do on her days off maybe? Her favourite places to go and what she'll miss about the place?

 

Would also like for the "day in the life of" to include her journey to "work" lol, just curious to know how she prepares for the show, not just warm ups etc in the dressing room right before the show starts.

 

Oh and, I'm loving the idea of a commentry!
