Céline's Blues Posted September 30, 2006 at 12:54 PM Author Posted September 30, 2006 at 12:54 PM There is a rumour she used some of the 26 songs recorded for ANDHC for OH. CWS was also from ANDHC. Also a rehash. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg

Wonder wich songs from ANDHC she used for OH, we know HYEBIL, SFL, CWS...if she is planning to release them on a other album , why not just give us a 2cd pack of all recorded songs Quote
thevoice Posted September 30, 2006 at 01:37 PM Posted September 30, 2006 at 01:37 PM so what's your point seb?celine is not writing her songs anyway so noone cares about her covering songs , she is doing it much better than the original. Quote
Céline's Blues Posted September 30, 2006 at 01:45 PM Author Posted September 30, 2006 at 01:45 PM I posted it cuzz not everyone is aware of the continious use of covers. Mirage, I have no idea who the singers were, I took the info from queenceline. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg
isurrender Posted September 30, 2006 at 02:45 PM Posted September 30, 2006 at 02:45 PM There is a rumour she used some of the 26 songs recorded for ANDHC for OH Like you said, it was only a rumour... she only recorded the songs we have on ANDHC. Plus All because of you and Coulda woulda shoulda. This rumour comes from a little stupid french book called "Céline from A to Z" where we can read that she recorded 70 songs for A new day has come and that One heart was filled with that session! This book has so much errors on Céline's career and projects ! So don't trust it ! At the beginning , CWS was supposed to be on the original edition instead of "Ten days". Then she fell in love with "Tomber" (french version of Ten days) while watching a french show and she wanted to record it in english. At that time, the album was finished ! Concerning Miracle... when the album was released , she said that the song "Miracle" was supposed to be on "One heart". But we don't know when she recorded it : was it during the recording of OH or Miracle? And yes Just a little bit of love is a cover. I have the original one sung by Maria Christensen. This is exactly the same version! Quote

alextrusca Posted September 30, 2006 at 05:12 PM Posted September 30, 2006 at 05:12 PM Hymne a l'amitie was sung by Edith Piaf. Quote
firebird Posted September 30, 2006 at 05:13 PM Posted September 30, 2006 at 05:13 PM You forgot Des Mots Qui Sonnent : 4 original songs, 8 covers -> 66% covers Concerning Miracle... when the album was released , she said that the song "Miracle" was supposed to be on "One heart". But we don't know when she recorded it : was it during the recording of OH or Miracle? <{POST_SNAPBACK}>It was supposed to be on A New Day Has Come. The song was given to Celine in 2001 as a present for Rene Charles birth by Linda Thompson (David Foster's wife). I think she recorded it only for Miracle. Quote
alextrusca Posted September 30, 2006 at 05:15 PM Posted September 30, 2006 at 05:15 PM Yes, she recorded in 2004, at the begining of the year, when she did the other songs and the photo session with Anne. Quote

firebird Posted September 30, 2006 at 06:06 PM Posted September 30, 2006 at 06:06 PM I don't care Céline covers that much<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Yes, the only thing I care is when they put one song on different albums like Have You Ever Been In Love or The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, and actually sometimes the old songs are better then the ones especially written for an album. I mean for example if you take The Power Of Love is certainly better than Real Emotion or The Greatest Reward (old) and Rain, Tax (new) Quote

Esty Posted September 30, 2006 at 06:23 PM Posted September 30, 2006 at 06:23 PM It's true that Celine covers many songs, which is not so great... I thinks she could write or someone could write her equally good NEW songs... However, we must keep in mind that her covers are usually better than the originals (TPOL, IYAMT) and certainly more famous (IACBTMN) and people usually connect these songs with Celine... In general, I don't mind covers... but keep the quota of 1 or 2 at most, cover song maximally on an album... Quote
CSCfan Posted September 30, 2006 at 06:27 PM Posted September 30, 2006 at 06:27 PM The thing is..who cares that they are "leftovers" from a previous album..the songs are still new to us. We never heard them. The one thing that this shows us, is that this was done even before OH. So it's nothing new. leenylover Posted September 30, 2006 at 08:25 PM Posted September 30, 2006 at 08:25 PM Are you guys saying that you would prefer it if once a song has been recorded, NO-ONE should EVER record that song again? Imagine if you were a song writer, maybe a musical genius who's not so hot at singing, but amazing at composing contemporary, chart-worthy material. If one person had recorded your song, and it remained an album filler and hardly enyone ever heard it, you would have NO chance of anyone ever hearing it again, because no-one else would be able to use it. I know I'm taking it to the extreme here, but most song writers write songs for singers sing! Not just once, but many times! There are many artists that don't write their own material, but give a unique take on someone elses. It's like remaking a movie, sometimes it's better, sometimes it's not. But if it's good story it should be told and told again, a good song should be sung! Song writers BEG Celine to sing their songs! Even if people have sang them before her! Because she has a talent for making songs her own and giving them her magical touch, I wouldn't ever want her to stop. Love Lisaxxx Quote My List of Celine Dion stuff, PM me to trade!

smw Posted September 30, 2006 at 09:49 PM Posted September 30, 2006 at 09:49 PM I have no problem with Celine recording "covers"....people are now recording original Celine Dion songs! Anyway, Celine's recordings are always superior to previous releases. However, I do have a problem with the One Heart album. There are songs on their from A New Day Has Come and one from All The Way sessions. Not to mention that there's a song on there recorded when Celine was sick...and the rest were thrown together in a short period of time. It's not a solid album, and I wish that they would have just not released it and spent more time promoting A New Day Has Come, which is a solid album. As far as Miracle, it is also thrown together....however it has a solid theme with many more tracks recorded just for this album. Also, it was never meant to appeal to the general public. Quote
