Beware of the Guy in Celine's Boutique

I forgot to mention this when I came back from Vegas, but there is an older man who works in Celine's store, and he really upset me and Giada! Giada and I went in there to purchase some stuff, and Giada asked me how old you have to be to work in the store, so I asked that old guy and he said "Well, it depends, first of all we don't hire fans. They tend to bother Celine and Celine doesn't like to be bothered. And if they worked for us, they probably wouldn't being working, and after all we are here to work and Celine is here to work!"

 

All I asked was the age requirement, I didn't say I wanted to work there (although I wouldn't mind). But the way he said it was rude, and felt like he was shooting me down. And I can't believe he would say such a thing as "Celine doesn't like to be bothered" "Celine is here to work" HELLO!!! Celine works for her fans, so it made no sense to me the crap he was saying...he is BullS***.

 

Earlier that day Giada told him the last time she went, Patrick gave her front row and Celine gave her the rose, and he said "Oh yeah, I already know" Giada asked "Who told you?" He replied "Oh we talk about that stuff, I've known Celine for years, I eat dinner with most of those people all the time."

 

I think he is rude and full of crap. And I get the feeling he's a liar.

When we were there in April he was the source of a lot of worry. He told us that Celine had been hospitalized and was still there and was in pretty bad shape and that everyone was worrying about her.

 

The thing about him is that he IS a big fan...either that or not one at all. He also told us that he gets rare Celine memorobilia and then sells it and keeps some of us. He gave us some examples but that was after he told us that Celine was in the hospital so my head was spinning.

 

In my opinion if he is a fan, of course he doesn't want anyone else to work there. He wants to be the star and the only one that can "bother" Celine. If he isn't one then, in my opinion, he is someone there with an alterior motive..... he certainly isn't positive..... and people who are not positive are definitely NOT good for business.

 

Aaaanyway.... dont work yourselves up about it too much. Next time just avoid, avoid, avoid. :0)

Thanks for giving us the warning! Man, maybe they NEED to hire fans because the people that work there are SOOOOOOO rude, at least that has been my experience. They definitely don't reflect Celine's kind, loving nature at all! I remember when I went there to use my $100 that I won with the TC Grand Prize, and they looked at me like I was soooooooo stupid! The one lady pulled an attitude saying, "I have worked her since the store has been opened, and I have never heard of this" Well, all you have to do is go to Celine's site and read the reviews on how the 4 other winners spent their $100 at the boutique!!! So, I had to call my contact from CDA, and in a matter of minutes it was all fixed. They could have been so much nicer about it! We really need to get some NICE people working at the boutique to treat us fans (the ones who spend hundreds of thousands of dollars there) with a little respect!

Although I was joking when I said it, I told my mom it would be the first time I'd shoplift at a job if I worked in the botique. Seriously though I would never that to Celine and I think we SHOULD get Celine fans to work there. How could you not like Celine though? I bet only that guy is the questionable one and we could get rid of just him and be ok. I talked with a couple ushers forever before the last show I went to. They were so so nice and they said they loved Celine and she was so generous to all her workers. They said she'd given them all a robe from her botique along with a whole bunch of other stuff. Anyone who has seen those robes knows they're quite costly and Celine just gave out one to EVERY SINGLE WORKER. I'd love that job. They need people just as excited about Celine as the customers, not people like party pooper guy who rains on our exciting experiences of seeing the show!

that is so odd every time i was there the people were extremely nice.

The first time i went and the person said that she was a fan and then another said that she would like to see celine more but she only gets finally did when she got free tickets. And they were not that great of tickets either. I meet around 8 people that worked there and they were all fans. They admitted to it.

 

this guy makes me angry. He probally had a bad day and is very selfish. I am sure if you reported this to someone in the store that he would be gone soon also I am sure that they already noticed his behavior if he is like this alot.

I witnessed this guy's mistakes as well.

 

I do believe he means well, but is perhaps trying a bit too hard to seem important. He isn't the only person to exhibit such behavior, but he is older and should know better. I don't think he should be ill treated in return, but if he keeps these things up he will loose his job- which is sad. Although the pay isn't likely to be enough to afford the best of life, it probably still helps pay bills and loosing his job would be unfortunate.

 

*If* the opportunity presents itself in the future, I am likely going to have a word with him in private- as a concerned well wisher. He probably isn't aware just how much we all talk to each other, nor how far out of line he goes. Perceptions are reality, but it's tough to see yourself through other people's eyes.

 

So, yes best to avoid letting any really important information out to him since it will spread like wildfire. But I bet Céline would want us all to treat him with courtesy and respect regardless.

I actually think he is a supervisor there, because he was wearing a suit (Edit: ok it wasn't a suit I just checked lol, but he acted like he was important)...i have a picture of him...let me find it (and this was before we experienced his rudeness!!)

 

BTW...i think it's much better to have fans working there, since we know a lot about Celine, I mean of course there would be background checks to make sure no weirdos are hired lol.

 

I don't want to make ppl dislike him, I just feel he is a negative reflection of Celine. Like Celine says "You cannot ask people to buy your tickets, buy your books, buy your new cd..." "...and say leave me alone."

Oh my goodness! I never experienced this either! All the people I talked to in the shop and the ushers (the ushers especially) were so nice. One of the ushers even remembered talking to me before the show and asked me about it when the show was over. How many people do she see and talk to that night? Probably a lot, but she still took the time to ask me if it was everything I had imagined.

 

Maybe we should wait and get some other recounts of this guy's behavior before we go off and attack him and try to get him fired. Like IfICould said,

If we want HIM to be a good representation of Celine as an employee, let US be a good one to start with as fans.

Yeah I totally agree with that. I don't want people to hate him or disrespect him in anyway, I just wanted to inform others of what he said. He made Celine sound bad when he said what he said. And I did hear from another fan that he was rude to them as well. But maybe that's this guy's personality...no harm done...Giada and I were just really offended.

Well, actually, here is another account of what I would call misinformation or aloofness.

 

Last August when I went into the boutique, I talked with one of the associates there that evening. The question I asked her (I already new the answer but wanted to see if she new more) was.. "So where would I be able to find some members of the show for autographs etc."

 

Her reply was... "Oh you won't find them anywhere. They leave from a special door from rear of the Coliseum that you can't access."

 

My reply was "Really? I heard sometimes you can find them in the casino or restaurants here."

 

Reply: "I have never heard of that."

 

All in all, the tone was rather snubby. Not very helpful, Like I have better things to do than to answer your stupid questions.

Funny, I ran into several people in the casino. I even met Michel, not once but TWICE in the casino area. I also saw Mego, Jean Sebastian (the violin player), Andre (guitar), Yves (keyboard), Bernev (backup vocals), and I saw several dancers. They all said I wouldn't get close to seeing Celine, which I believed, but I was stoked to get to see them. I don't think they realize that we love them too. I told michel that Celine did great in the show and he said yeah, they were very proud of her. What a sweet brother! I have pictures if anyone wants to see them. They also all were kind enough to autograph my program from the show.

Yep! Giada and I met Michel twice in one day! We took a picture with him the very first time and then we watched him walk around the casino searching for his wife lol Also, one of the workers in the boutique said that if any of them bothered Celine's family or crew they would get in trouble.

Ok, here are my pics. I forgot to take a picture with Mego because I was so excited to meet him. I got one as he was walking away, but it was dark and you couldn't see him well. It was a sad moment for me Although you meet the one and only Celine, I still hope you see some of the crew. I wish I could meet Celine...

If this man continued to act like this to customers, he will reduce of the number of people who visit the boutique and new fans. Celine's fans will visit there whatever, definitely. But think of other non-Celine fans. There must be some of them kinda interest in the shop and have some observation. If this man treated them rudely, they might have thought "Why did Celine hired this man? I'm outta here!!" or something worse. The man should be dismissed right away, in my opinion.

I think someone manages this section rather than Celine herself, or there wouldn't be anyone like this hired. The sales MUST BE FRIENDLY TO CUSTOMERS, it's a part of the business rules, anyway. How would you sell your products if you looked like having something nasty smelling shoved right under your nose?
