Avoid: Celine Dion's A New Day ... (Caesars Palace, 3570 Las Vegas Blvd. S.; 877-423- 5463). It's not that it's a terrible show. Well, it was when it opened in 2003, but it's refined itself since then, and Celine looks better and chest-thumps less. But her music is so relaxing that it fails to deliver the jolt of energy Vegas theater is supposed to give. Celine's also such a good singer that it sounds flawlessly like her albums, which most of the audience already owns. Watching Celine sing her songs (for $87.50 plus tax, and up) is a strange letdown because you realize that she of the perfect marriage and motherhood has no idea what the sort of sadness and desperation of "I Drove All Night" or "It's All Coming Back to Me" feels like.

but u know i was in a book shop reading a LV touring book and they said many things about the show and things and said like is it worth that much money to see the show the answer is no....

maybe the price is a bit expensive but i think it ok.....

not right . noone accepted it cause almost noone knows about it and honestly i got tired of discussing it - i dont like her vegas show , i think he is right and i think playback should be illegal , that's all i'm gonna say about it.

I listened to his podcast the other day when he was interviewing Toni Braxton. It seems that it wasn't Céline after all whom Toni asked for advice. It was Gladys Knight. Anyway he asked Toni how does she feel performing song with so much meaning, pain in them, pointing out that she unlike CELINE DION knows what she's singing about.

A New Day is aweomse! I think the best part of Las Vegas is being able to know you are in a place where Celine is and to be able to walk around and run into Celine's family eg. Michel, it's so cool how you could be in front of the shop and be able to say "Hi Michel!" or "Hello Patrick!"

How does he know that Celine hasn't had heartache? Even if she's only had disappointments, and we know she has, they are as large to her as other people's problems, because she has not expirienced anything worse.

EXACTLY! When I went in August I stayed at the Flamingo (totally disgusting to have to come back to your hotel and see a HUUUGE picture of Toni Braxton on the front! Bleeeh!)anyways, every single time I walked past her gift shop (at least 3-4 times a day) there was NO ONE IN THERE BUT THE EMPLOYEES! I thought the place was closed! When I was leaving I saw ONE PERSON in there and I almost passed out. Nothing need be said about Celine, she and her show speak for themselves!
