Teodora Posted May 17, 2007 at 02:16 PM Posted May 17, 2007 at 02:16 PM Get over yourself already people! It is a high price, but that's the price level for concerts in general, in Europe. She's charging much less than a lot of other unimpressive performers. With her stardome and her career she could easily charge double that! Quote
Davey84 Posted May 17, 2007 at 02:25 PM Posted May 17, 2007 at 02:25 PM (edited) but the other question is... why would she??? she had a 150 million dollar contract with ceasars... she makes millions with her cds... oh and the 100 different parfums not to forget! now she has to make millions with the tour... She said she hasn't have to sing anymore for the money... then why charge so much? Look I understand the management of artists... if people are willing to pay 250-400 euros for a ticket on the black market, then they can rise the ticketprices aswell... cos they are going to be sold anyway, and this way there is more money for the artist. I don't like the way this is going... not only with Céline but with every artist! Mirage had a madonna ticket for 90 euros last year and he was standing next to the stage! And beside the high amount for the ticket, you have to pay for administration costs blabla cost etc! With every new concert, the prices are going up up up It's not fun anymore!! Catégorie 4 : 78,50 €Catégorie 3 : 133,50 €Catégorie 2 : 176,50 €Catégorie 1 : 205 €If this is the ticket price for the concerts in China, I would be so happy. Cause even second class local star could demand this ticket price in China. A Super star like Celine would ask for at least €60-400.Also consider most Chinese people even can't earn €400 a month. So I think the Euro and American fans should be very happy to the concert ticket price, including A New Day ticket price. Now in Paris even the worst seats cost more. I don't like the high prices too, but I hope the ticket prices in Germany next year won't be higher than 200 Euros. Quote

DianaLuts Posted May 17, 2007 at 04:08 PM Posted May 17, 2007 at 04:08 PM Is the stage coing to be in the center for all shows? Because in Nice the stage is at the back like the Falling Into You tour. That's what I don't get either... The hall's plan onm ticketnet.fr is not helping at all... In first shows the round stage, then, when you choose the tickets, the red dot where your sears are supposed to be beeps in a totally different area than expected.... They may not know what kind of stage they'll yet... But I'm sure those seats are great, they're first category, they're 3rd and 1st row.... can't be bad! If that french ticketbastard is not lying, i am supposed to have 1st row on the 27th and the 19th and 3rd row on the 25th.... It better not be. Quote

nature boy Posted May 17, 2007 at 05:17 PM Posted May 17, 2007 at 05:17 PM The tickets are not cheap, but they are cheaper than most of us thought they'd be (me included!) Actually they are cheaper for the final run in Vegas (I had some but.....ah well!) Celine hasn't toured in over FIVE years there is no way they are going to miss an oppertunity to sell high priced tickets if they can. The thing with gigs now they keep going up and up, becasue the promoters know they can get away with it and if you really want to go no price will stop you. At the end of the day though if the artist made a stand against these prices the promoters would have to bring them down. I know she doesn't really need to do shows here, but I think it would be faur to do at least one, in any country (for example Hungary). If the rolling stones and red hot chilli peppers can have concerts in Serbia this year, why can't Celine? I'm a great fan of hers and would even consider traveling to France or Switzerland to see her, but we from Serbia have tyrouble getting visas for these countries So, any info please... Quote

By the time the tour comes around it will be NINE years since she last toured. I would've paid anything to be at one of the Paris concerts to be honest. It's going to be amazing. I've seen Celine once in Scotland, four times in Vegas and yet nothing will match seeing her in Paris, I just know it. Can't wait. Dionesque Posted May 17, 2007 at 07:52 PM Posted May 17, 2007 at 07:52 PM @ mb011: Yeah, it would be great if she would visit any Eastern European countries this time as she never did it before!! Maybe there's a small chance that she will come to Hungary... so it won't be that far for you, right? Or visiting Poland would be great - it's a big country with so many Celine fans and we also have rich sponsors there so... By the way: CONGRATS to you and your country because of "Molitva"!!!!! I sooooo LOOOOOOVE this song!!!!!!!!! @ Shaun: I sooo agreeeee!!!! I'm sure the shows in Paris will be something very spacial!! I will try to get tickets for some other shows in other countries but I'm just DYING to join the Paris event!!!! I'm so happy to have a ticket and I hope the 2nd row will be really so close to the stage as it sounds to be!! I have "Garou in Bercy" DVD with Celine as a special guest - I just LOVE this DVD, this show, this athmosphere!!!! And... who knows...? Maybe we can expect some special guests in Paris....??... Marilou, Garou, George de Palmas or even Jean-Jacques Goldman??!! Aaaawwww!!!!! Why there are still so many months to go?!! hehe.... Love, Posted May 17, 2007 at 08:26 PM Posted May 17, 2007 at 08:26 PM (edited) I think everyone needs to reconsider their thoughts about the ticket prices. I feel they are quite fair. There are many lesser artists who would charge much, much more. An artist of this caliber charging great seats under 250 Euros is truly giving a discount. Do you know how much money it costs to rent these stadiums and arenas?Do you know how much money it costs to stage a show? There are those superfluous entertainment taxes; managerial fees; stage design fees; costume design fees; set design fees (LED screens, special effects, special lighting; rental fees for equipments; commission fees for musicians, technicians, and support vocalists; promotional fees for billboards, kiosks, radio, television, flyers; fees for production crew; chair rentals; etc. And of course, Celine needs to make her money as well; it's part of her living. "A New Day..." is one place, one mega set. The margin of profits is much higher. But the settings at these stadiums and arenas are to be set up in a day or two and taken down immediately. It takes so much money to put on a show, and especially of this magnitude. I've done small shows to much smaller crowds and we're looking at five figures. Now, Celine's show is catered to 17,000 to 40,000 people - you're looking at expenditures in six figures. It does not matter even if Celine has a Tour Sponsor. $500,000 from a sponsor just wouldn't cut it. Edited May 17, 2007 at 08:28 PM by Love, Quote
JP Posted May 17, 2007 at 08:32 PM Posted May 17, 2007 at 08:32 PM Yes, I think you are We were expecting much higher prices, because other performers have like out of this world prices... For example, Justin Timberlake charges over 350 euros for best seats... I expected them to be around 200 euros for best seats, so I'm ok.... Spent a whole lot of money last night though OMG, it's so expensive your shows in Europe!! Here, the best seat for Justin are 85 euros!!And if Celine charge the same thing for here, it would be one of the most expensive show i ever seen, more expensive than Madonna!I really think it will be cheaper in Quebec.. I suspect if she does decide to visit Eastern Europe she will go to Prague, Vienna, Budapest or somewhere in Italy. I just hope she'll come to one of those places cause it's relatively near.
