Or, in general, who is it who decides Celines next career move? Many fans tend to blame Sony for bad choices and bad marketing, but is it true that the recent bad choices in Celines career are all Sonys fault? I would think that Sony would give Celine and Rene a bigger freedom because of their status in the recording world. So couldn’t it just as well be Rene or one of his advisors who have made bad decisions? Quote

First Celine's team decides if they want to record anything (it could also be Sony's willing, but those times are over), then they talk to Sony.. Celine's career move is also decided by Celine's team. thevoice Posted October 5, 2006 at 12:37 PM Posted October 5, 2006 at 12:37 PM (edited) well it's a bit complicated but as i see it - rene is the one who takes the strategic decisions . which means he is the one who decieded about vegas , he is the one who decides whether celine should do RNB or jazz or whatever and who r the producer she needs to work with . about sony - they want their albums and as long as they get the money they dont really care . for them the best thing is to do nothing and still gain alot of money . they dont really care what celine will do next as long as she'll keep selling records and as long as they wont have to promote her too much and invest too much in her career , after all they have many other important , much more important artists that r far more important than the biggest selling female artist ever . they think - well , celine will do oprah , the view , cbs special , good morning america and she'll promote herself - we wont push her songs and release alot of singles cause it costs too much and it's too much work . celine is till going to sell but not as much as she could , still - we'll make alot of money and wont have to spend alot of money .sony r the ones who responsible for what i call the "tactical decisions" - they cant force celine to record an album each year for example , this is something only rene can do . but they deciede on how to promote her albums , singles which is not less important . about celine's team - their job is to tell her what she wants to hear so she wont get mad and kick their #ss and they r also in charge of the communication with the fans . obviously they fail big time Edited October 5, 2006 at 12:39 PM by thevoice Quote

She only recorded it bevause Rene wanted it..And she really thought about not doing the Vegas-thing, after Rene had planned everything.. But she has also some influence in songs, "Ten Days" was her influence on the album ANDHC...
