Hmm... Someone offered the "Immortality" CD to me, it looks exactely the same, has the same tracklist and same number but there is no picture sleeve for it...

Do you think it's worth much?

I'd say it's still worth a lot. These remixes are very rare, I've only got a couple that I've downloaded. The sleeve itself may or may not exist. I don't own the CD myself, so can't say for certain, wish I could, but it is true that the CD itself is called Immortality remixes, whilst the cover image is just Immortality.

Unlike with some CD promo's it's the Cd and it's remixes that are the more important thing in this equation, not the cover image. How much are they asking you for? I'd go for it. (But then I questioned the existence of the CTM promo picture sleeve!) :-/

 

Perhaps th original poster could confirm it's existance.

Let's hope someone who own this promo among us will comment on this - whether it contains the picture cover or not.

 

Of course the CD and the remixes are most important but this picture cover looks very beautiful! I really like this picture so would like to have it together with the CD if it really exists.

 

I think I'll get the CD anyway, even if without the cover.

I've never heard these remixes and I already thought it may be something rather rare.

the sleeve of Immortaliy definatly exists!! I saw Céline signing a real one in Paris But I'm almost 100 positive that the promo cd itself isn't a cd-r! but a pink cd with the Celine sign on it!

Well, the removed listing may be because the pink CD is fake?? I saw the white CD John posted a pic of at least twice and I never saw the pink one...

 

Oh my... is anybody out there owning this CD in her/his collection??

Hmm, that's interesting. I would have to say that the CD that Davey posted does look like authentic alright and the sleeve and the cover do seem to match. You can see under Celine on the disc it appears to say Immortality like the sleeve. I went to eil and they have it listed as follows (Not available)

This is the cat no. that I had though was correct untill I fould that phot of the CD-r, which does look authentic i.m.o., perhaps it was a seperate CD-R release to the other promo.

Having investigated this sellers other items, I can now see that he has also got a few other CD-rs of rare Celine remixes there, that are throwing up a bit of doubt.

If you look at the number on the rim of the CD-r it is the same as the Immortality mix. I thought this would be a cat number, though I know they are not often on CD-r's.

 

And this remix of A New Day Has Come is very similar in font style.

You might need to investigate this a bit further before sending payment Dionesque. I really hope that everything is okay with this CD, most of his items do look very authentic releases though, and he has a good rating.

 

I'm not getting involved in any releases with a query about picture sleeves again!

Because this listing is from August 2006 and eBay keeps listings available for view only for 90 days or something but for sure not that long - over 1,5 year...

PEOPLE THESE CD SINGLES ARE OBVIOUSLY FAKE!!!!

 

I don't believe that half of the TC remixes are even official!! I reported these cds to ebay I believe! You can download most remixes for free... it's not worth $249.50 profit for the seller!! Dionesque I highly recommend you to not pay, and get yourself another ticket for a German concert or something, cos this is FAKE FAKE FAKE!!!

And "CNPJ 84.494.129/0001-93" isn't a catalogue number! It's something like register number of the company, I think. If you enter this entire number/code in Google, you'll receive several matches to it but all of them are in Brasilian so I don't really understand it...

 

The other CDs sold by the same seller made me concerned too, esp. the other Celine Dion releases John found...

I knew the 6-track remix promo of "Immortality" really exists but for instance, "Taking Chances" or "Eyes On Me" with all those remixes seem kinda fake to me too....

 

Or are these releases specially for DJs in Brasil??

 

Dayey, why are you so sure these CDs are fakes?? I would like to be so sure myself so I wouldn't get any troubles anymore!...

 

 

This time I got lucky though.

As I usually try to pay prompt after winning an auction so my payment was already sent but I asked the seller for the refund. I told I made a mistake and it's not the CD that I was looking for. Fortunately he refunded me the full money he got from me.

Well... after 10 years of collecting, I like to believe that I developed a nose for knowing what is fake or not

 

Some of these 'releases' are too good to be true... all kinds of remixes, 'rare' ones on one disc... it's just a bid too much... also like you said; And "CNPJ 84.494.129/0001-93" isn't a catalogue number! It's something like register number of the company, I think. If you enter this entire number/code in Google, you'll receive several matches to it but all of them are in Brasilian . that is a clue aswell, because sony would always use different numbers for different releases! Also back in the ltal area cd-rs weren't that widely spread as nowadays. Back then they still used real covers and most of the time real cds. Although there's an exception, I have a THLAL/TP promo which is offical but a cd-r.

 

It's not always easy... and there are a lot of crooks out there, just be careful, especially when it's for high prices like this

Thank you! Of course that's why I also asked here as I felt kinda unsecure.

 

Talking about this number/code, I don't think it should be something like a CD catalogue number but a register number for the company so in this case maybe a number SonyBMG Brasil got in some Brasilian registers of companies. Sorry, I'm really not much into economics so I can't explaine it better.

 

Maybe a Brasilian fan here does know more about it??

 

But the clue about CD-Rs hardly being used in LATL era and earlier is really good! And the pink CD you posted looks much more real to me, that's right! The CD artwork (apart of colours) looks similair to other singles from that era and the cover picture also comes from 1998 or 1999 so was a contemporary back than.

 

I've never ever seen this pink promo but now I know what I have to look for... Guess this one may cost really a fortune if it once appear, though...

I actually couldn't remember where I got this photo from, wasn't untill I checked the links that I saw it must have come from that seller. Glad you didn't have to pay out on this. I'd have felt bad if you had gotten burnt. It was good of the seller to repay you. And it's great to have some definative proof of what to look for in the future. (Thanks Davey).

I'm lucky I got refund for that stupid CD-R, hehe!

I see there are people paying even the BIN prices for those CD-Rs but I'm lucky to be here among other devoted collectors.

Are you sure the Japanese "World To Believe" promo is a fake?

It may be promo like "Eyes On Me" which also comes with an inlay which looks like "home made" but it isn't.
