Ok ever since I read this message this morning, it has been depressing! Even though I didn't expect anything this year since we haven't heard any news, it is really depressing to hear that Celine does not have any plans right now for a new CD. I love her music so much it is great to hear new songs. I really do want her next CD to be very successful so I understand if she has to wait until next year. But that still doesn't change the fact that I would love new songs right now!

Celine and Rene "did not say anything" - meaning "NO COMMENT" - they don't want to give information, they were tightlipped... I'm sure they have some secrets. Remember how they kept the "You and I" & Air Canada campaign as a secret? Even recently.. the Tony Bennett duet - that's a secret too. Just relax or take some Prozac or take a hike or swim or jog - just forget about it. It's not worth your memory or health.

I don't think this is that shocking, to be honest. It's pretty reasonable to think that there would be no new albums in the working yet, she hasn't even finished in Las Vegas...I would rather she wait, get something good going and then release it after Vegas is well and truly done with.

 

She needs to have a break before she can do something new and good..lest we get One Heart #2.

It's really funny to me that a lot of people on this forum seem to not like One Heart. I really like the CD. And many of friends who don't like Celine's music, love this CD. They would rather me play One Heart than any of her other CDs. Yes it's no Falling Into You CD, but they are two totally different CDs that don't really compare. They are two totally different works of art that are each great in their own way. I would love to have a new CD similar to Falling Into You, but I would also love a new CD similar to One Heart.

u wont get a CD like FIY cause celine's voice is not the same anymore , she cant record and for sure not perform songs like the ones in FIY - it's sad but true : she is much older and her voice is not that powerful anymore .

 

u also wont get a CD like OH anytime soon cause celine knows now that it damaged her reputation and turned her from one of the most celebrated female vocalists ever to a cheesy pop singer .

I hope so!!! It would be so nice!!! Now that Christina Aguilera's Back To Basics album turned out so wonderful, that could give Celine an idea Something like that would be perfect for her... Or a calm but magnificent album like 1F&4T was but only in English. I don't hate OH (though it's not one of my favourites) but I think it was enough of those cheesy pop songs...

I'm not disappointed, not sad, not depressed because I was not expecting anything. The problem is, most of the people make up high expectations based on... nothing.

 

Let the woman take a rest, for Pete's sake. She works her tail off every week on that show. And you can all b**ch about it and say you hate Vegas deal and she should have never gone there but let's all face it: that's the way it is. She never told anything lately that led anyone realisticaly to belive there was an album coming soon. At least it didn't let me to believe.

 

And just because she doesn't have anything planned for the near future...guys this is AUGUST 2006. I don't see why some people are already predicting an album only after 2010...

I too like the One Heart album! Probably because it was a bit different than what I was used to hearing from Céline. Well, that, and not to mention I'm more of an uptempo person as well. Although, ironically, "My Heart Will Go On" is "my" song of Céline's. That's when I became a fan (and probably 5 billion other people of the world). J/k

 

And I agree, I think everybody should just calm down. Celine is HUMAN after all. She needs to do what makes her happy in the long run, not us. So whether it be 2007 or 2017 when we get a new album, so be it. But like someone else said I'm willing to bet there's something in the works that they're not telling us, or maybe something they're considering (i.e. the jazz album, Spanish album, classical album, etc.)

i love Celine and can't wait for her to make a new album, but i think she should take a break after AND, spend quality time with her son and husband, and hopefully have another baby. Then I think she will be ready to take the time and energy for a new spectacular album. She needs a break and as a huge Celine fan, I am going to respect that. She needs a life! But I will miss her tremendously!

I disagree, other singers that are the same age as Céline can still sing exactly the same, and still perform live ( Barbra, Tina Arena), there is no reason why, if she took care of her voice properly again, that she couldn't sound just like she did in the 90s. FIY was particularly taxing, but I think she sounds better on songs from CD and TCOML.
