Here's an old interview from the UK.

 

My friend in England sent me an interview titled "Can You Handle It?", from a magazine titled Smash Hits. Based on the last comment, I guess it's suppose to be emberassing, but Celine handled it well.

 

SHE HANDLED SINGING THE SAME SONG FOR EONS, SHE HANDLED A REALLY BAD PERM AND THE EUROVISION SONG CONTEST YONKS AGO, BUT LET'S SEE IF SONGTRESS CELINE DION CAN HANDLE THIS... Q. Why do you always warble on about love? A. Because it's what I believe in most in life, I think it's incredibly important and a lot of people are in need of it. If I can share all the love I've had in my life through my music, then I think it's wonderful.

 

Q. Do you ever think twice?

A. (giggles) Do I? (long pause) No, I don't think so. (thinks) Can I say sometimes, because I'm not sure if I do. I know exactly what I want and what I have to do and what I wish, so I don't have to think about it too often. I do it every time I sing that song, that's for sure!

 

Q. Were you a brat when you were a child star? A. I don't think so, no. Growing up with a big family like mine, everybody's equal, no one has more than anyone else. We used to share everything. I was very, very spoilt but on the love side, I was never demanding.

 

Q. How exactly does one 'fall into someone'? A. It means falling in love. It means everything the person does and is...is like (clutches chest) Oooohhhhh, it's when he just moves and you think it's amazing.

 

Q. Who would win a fight between you and Mariah Carey? A. If it was to do with the range of notes, she would win because she sings higher than me. If it was the voice, she's got it, definitely.

 

Q. Have you ever snogged a Mountie? (Canadian policeman) A. (thinks) Yes, I'm sure I have. I've been around them a few times in my life, taking pictures and things. I'm sure I must have done once.

 

Q. Is Christmas a complete nightmare round your gaff because you have 13 brothers and sisters?

A. (smiles) It's a dream come true, because it's the only time during the year that we can all get together. We all receive gifts and I spoil everyone. For me to see them happy, all my nieces and nephews smiling, it's wonderful. Just in my close family there are about 70 people. I have to rent a place for dinner.

 

Q. Say something rude in French.

A. (grables on so incredibly fast that Smash Hits completely misses what's been said) It means, I don't give a damn about your stupid things, I don't give a s**t about what you do.

 

Q. What did you think of the French and Saunders take-off of you? A. I haven't seen it but I heard it was very very funny. They gave me a massive chin because mine's a bit pointed, and they exaggerated my nose because I have a big nose. But I have a sense of humour, so I don't mind.  Actually, I want to see it.

 

Q. Are you a bit of a drama queen?

A. Every time I do a photo shoot I look really dramatic, all black and white shots. But there is a different side to me that likes jeans and T-shirts.  I'd say I'm dramatic but not in a bad way - it's a style. It's who I am.

 

Q. Do you ever feel guilty for earning so much money? A. No, because I never really think about it that much, and I work very hard.  I'm very lucky because I can do what I love and I can make money out of it.  A lot of people are working hard doing things they don't like and it's hard for them to pay their rent. I'm very lucky to have money and be able to spoil the people around me. I don't feel bad because I share it a lot and use it to do positive things. Like at my wedding - we got everyone to gove money to Cystic Fibrosis instead of giving us presents - and they ended up giving over a hundred thousand dollars.

 

Q. Does your husband mind you snogging gorgeous blokes in your videos? A. Well, we talk about it and he doesn't get crazy about it. I try to put myself in his shoes, because if he was kissing someone else, I'd be unhappy!  But we're both intelligent enough to know it's acting, and not true feelings.

 

Q. When you have arguments do you scream "NO NO NO NO"? A. (laughs) No, I only do that when I sing Think Twice (starts singing) -no no no no. Otherwise, no, I don't do that! That's a funny question, ha ha ha.

 

Q. Can you balance a ball on your nose? (Sea-lion Dion, geddit?) A. I don't know (picks up a strawberry and attempts to balance it) I don't think so. Are you asking because you think I have a pointy nose? Or a big nose? (er, nope) Nah, I don't think I could, it's not one of my talents, ha ha.

It is a British word for kissing, but more importantly french kissing (open mouth and tongues and stuff!) So I don't think Celine's answer would have been that accurate! At least I hope not! lol!

 

I think she gave some great answers, I'm glad she didn't back off from doing this interview. Her team would have know that there could be some embarrasing questions here, but it just helps to show her fun side! I wonder if certain other "Divas" would answer so graciously - one question in particular!

The UK media really pushed the line with that interview.But Celine was above them, as always.

Look people it was for a teenage magazine and it was taken in like 96. It was a print interview so i highly doubt they spoke to her like that!
