these tight leather outfits, especially white, don't look good

she already had this from the FIY tour...i don't think it is nice enough for vegas...a dress is a lot better

 

the pink dress from IS was amazing too...the best one...they shouldn't have changed that one...i'm sad

 

and is the dress for LCMM, IDAN, and that whole set the same as the one from the 500th show?

I agree with you on the pink dress. SHE LOOKS radiant in that pink dress!

 

I think I know why she's changing into pants for the beginning of the show: because she wants to do more KICKS during "The Power of Love"

I'm in Vegas right now and just saw the show tonight and Friday night!!! Don't worry about the costume changes because Céline looks AMAZING! The new white outfit is not her usual white jacket and pants. There is sort of a skirt on top of the pants and at one point she takes off her jacket and it looks really cool!! And the new white dress for my MHWGO is outstanding! Her hair is tied up and she wears something shiny in her hair too. The back is open. She looks wonderful and very feminine. I loved it! She sang a Pbeautiful Portuguese song just before Pour que tu m'aimes encore. I don't know that song but thought it was really neat.

 

She doesn't sing Fever anymore. No River Deep Mountain High or Unison.

ooooh this is exciting!! i think these were meant for the 500the show but had to be pushed back due to her illness.

 

i was scared at first about the white suit since it brought up the horrible image of her FIY white catsuit. plus it sounds a little boring. but what bullet described sounds better. cant wait to see pics!

 

i looove the lacy new top for AA, IDAN, etc so im glad its back! and as much as i adore the pink IS dress, she's had it for a while and something new would be nice. cant wait to see the mhwgo dress too!

I just sent them an email asking if they could post pictures or at least announce something on Whats Going On pg.

 

I dont know if they have to wait for official pictures to be taken or something. They should just buy a professional camera and send the webmaster to go take pictures herself. Or if they have the designer's sketches it would be cool to see that too.

I just read a more detailed review of her new costumes over at aother forum and IM SCARED!! It sounds like the return of the FIY camel toe!

 

I don't like the fact that she's wearing pants because I loved how she used to play with her skirt. Like during IA she would hold the edge of her skirt and shake her butt during the beginning "mm hmmm mm mmm" part.

the FIY suit is AWFUL. it happens to look ok in the shot you posted but from the front its so unflattering. it makes her hips look huge compared to her waist and it give her camel toe!

I was the one who posted on the another source about Celine's new costumes. Here is a copy of my post:

 

I have actually seen the new costumes and I'm not too happy. Don't get me wrong, I am all for Celine getting new costumes to wear, I usually love Celine's taste in clothing, and I totally adore Celine but something has gone terribly wrong here. The first outfit is probably my least favorite of them all. Earlier in this thread, it was described as a "black victorian style outfit"..that makes it sound much better than it actually looks. It kinda looks like a nun's habit without the hood or puritan garb. The only difference is the large bow situated right under her chin. And it's so large that about 4 dancers could probably fit underneath.

That outfit is pulled off to reveal an entirely white outfit. It consists of tight leather lace up pants, a white short sleeved lacy top which really flows out right under the chest area, and a white silky jacket over the top. Now I do like the top but it looks so girly and the pants belong at a disco club...very weird match. The pants are sooooo super tight that they show pretty much everything...the first 2 rows get an unexpected show on top of the actual show. And then with the shirt being so ruffled and lacey, the jacket barely fits over the top. To be quite honest, it makes her tummy area look quite puffy. She does take off the jacket at the beginning of I'm Alive...which was a small relief.

I do like the I Surrender dress but this one isn't entirely new...she's been wearing it during MHWGO since the 500th show. And I like the black lacy top worn for PQTME, LCMM, IDAN, etc. I liked it when she wore it at the 500th and was sad when she went back to her white shirt and suspenders. I'm happy it's back.

As for the dress for MHWGO and WAWW, it's all white as well and looks as though it has had pieces of the fabric cut away from it. It too has short sleeves and is along the same idea as the lacey shirt from earlier. I'm ok with it....I don't think it's fancy enough for the encores. I actually think it makes her look sorta like a milk maid.

Well anyway, those are my opinions. I'm hoping that some of these costumes will not have a long life with the show. I'm anxious to here other's opinions who have or will see the show soon.

I wish they were more excited about concept designs as they were a while ago. I MEAN, LOOK AT THE SUCCESS of A New Day NOW!!!

Celine Dion Takes Center Stage in Galliano and Ungaro "Couture Costumes" In A New Day...

Three of Celine's costumes were designed by John Galliano for The House of Christian Dior with special thanks to Alexis Roche and Rafael Ilardo. The couture costumes include an off-shoulder sweeping pink chiffon dress detailed with rare sparkling crystal beads and sequins that create a dazzling visual effect on stage, a classic black silk suit and a crimson beaded corset dress with a flowing hand-pleated skirt made of fine chiffon silk.

 

The dress Celine wears during her performance of the Grammy-winning song "My Heart Will Go On" was designed by Emanuel Ungaro for The House of Ungaro with special thanks to Anne Chauvin, Karine Barte and Catherine Jaugeas. The graceful gown is made of lilac silk satin charmeuse with a hand-painted oriental floral motif, gold leaf appliqué and a 1930's design in lilac and gold lace that seems to glow on stage. The inspiration for the dress came from the designer's desire to combine seduction with mystery.

 

As two of her favorite designers, Galliano and Ungaro had been invited to create new theatrical costumes for Celine. The couture outfits were constructed by hand in Paris using the highest quality fabrics, including silk, chiffon, lace, gold appliqué and lace. Each was beaded by hand, a process that takes three to four weeks per garment.

 

In developing Celine's couture creations over a period of six months, staff members of The House of Christian Dior and the House of Ungaro attended multiple performances to create concepts that match the on-stage aura. The designers worked closely with the design team in choosing fabrics and designs, as well as making them functional for stage, an unusual challenge in the world of haute couture. Celine also was intimately involved in the design process, approving sketches and swatches, and participating in multiple fittings throughout the course of development.

 

"Each costume was created to accent the highly visual elements of the show," said design director Seble Maaza. "Galliano and Ungaro's designs capture the different moods set by Celine's music and the environments on stage - glamorous, feminine, sensual, bold and ethereal."

 

The new costumes for the cast of A New Day... also were redeveloped by Richard Ruiz for Seble Maaza and Dominique Lemieux for Franco Dragone over a six month period. Cast members now undergo three to six costume changes, as opposed to two previously.

 

"The new costumes for Celine and the cast are a sophisticated mix between haute couture and high-end theatrical costumes," said Pavel Brun, associate director of A New Day... "Some of the world's most renowned fashion houses have created elegant costumes for Celine, and the designs for the cast compliment and project the choreography and the feel of the show. Together, the costumes give our audience a unique visual element that becomes a central part of the overall experience."

Ok leather pants I can deal with but what I want to know about are the shoes she wears with them! They better not be those big God-awful chunky platform buggers she wore on her stadium tours- leather pants nowadays require christian louboutins or manolos- but she can hardly run about in those for 2 hours every night- OH GOD_ THEY@VE RUINED THE SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
