Moby + Mylèlne duets

They two recorded supposedly two or more songs for Moby's upcoming best-of compilation. I must say it took Mylène to get me interested in Moby's - just to make sure he's the right man to eventually supervise the production of her next album (surely due in couple of years as rumored). Still, I think he's very well capable of delivering something good. Especially if working with such writing talent as Mylène herself.

Let's see how these 2 new songs will work out.

I don't like Moby, except the theme he wrote for Mission Impossible.

Moby was the reason I originally came to this board. Whether y'all love him or curse him for that it's hard to get away from the fact that the man is immensely talented. He's a great musician and songwriter. He's a campaigner for peace, human and animal rights. He's generous to charity, he's kind to his fans (he bought me a drink and apologised for not remembering who I was from a previous brief meeting). He's also a very talented producer that has worked with some of the biggest names in music.

I have absolutely no idea who Mylene is though.

Well, nobody here is arguing that Moby isn't talented. I'm sure every Céline fan can appreciate his work.

About Mylène - let me tell you you're missng out on a lot. :msn-tongue:

And they also say he's going to produce Mylènes next album..

If that's true.. then I like the news.. it could be a nice change to work with someone else the Laurent Boutonnat.

I love Mylène.. it doesn't go a day or 2 without me listening to at least one of her songs.

Yeah, I don't hate him even after he dissed Celine.

Watched Super Bowl

Jan 25, 2003 -  new york city

so i actually did end up watching some of the super bowl...i know, i know, i'm a hypocrite.i ended up in an apartment with a bunch of people who were watching the super bowl, so i figured i'd give it a try.i only watched about 20 minutes of it, so i guess that i missed the exciting stuff. but the pre-show with celine dion made my skin crawl. ugh. it was so creepy. i felt like i was livingin 'starship troopers' minus the giant bugs and cool uniforms.not to be too much of a lefty loudmouth, but since when has patriotism come to only mean flags and songs and soldiers?isn't that a bit worrisome and a bit redolent of the fascist regimes that we fought against 60 years ago? i like the u.s.a, but what i likeabout the u.s.a are the freedoms that are enshrined in the bill of rights (not to mention south park, the simpsons, and the interesting climate...).i guess i have this fantasy that at some big, corporate sporting event they'll have a reading of the bill of rights instead of celine dion butchering a song while zombified backing singerssmile like posterchildren for xanax with military jets flying overhead.like i said, it's a fantasy. maybe at the next superbowl they could get gregory peck and corretta scott king to talk about civil rights while willie nelson plays a medley of clash songs?i like my fantasy world, thank you very much.don't, like, go way harshing on my mellow, dude.mobyp.s-i do think that one of my favorite american expressions is 'chill the f*** out'.it's kind of like saying 'embrace pacifism you a******.'

And here's his own response to this

MoBitch

oh no...apparently i've offended celine dion's fans by expressing my stunned dismay at her bizarre super-bowl performance. i've got to learn to be more diplomatic and stop pissing off public figures and their fans. what's my problem? why can't i pick on people who are less deserving of it? i have nothing against celine dion. it's just that i don't appreciate her music and i thought that her superbowl performance was less than compelling. that's just my opinion. i like the satanicide version of 'my heart will go on' very much, for what it's worth. and a few years ago i had a 'slow dance' party here in manhattan and we played a few celine dion tracks (especially that one from 'beauty and the beast'. watching drunk new yorkers grope each other while listening to celine dion was really sweet, actually.). but in the future i will refrain from expressing my opinion regarding the art and/or antics of other public figures. and then when i retire i will write down what i've actually been thinking all of this time. oh, the thought of actually being honest as regards my thoughts on culture and other public figures is almost narcotic... i might not have been overly diplomatic over the last few years, but i've certainly kept 99% of my thoughts regarding culture and other public figures to myself. cos let's face it, most public figures are greedy, vain, mercenary, and depressing, and most popular culture sucks #ss. but i'll wait a few years until i'm safely ensconced in a tropical retirement (with monkey butlers. butlering of their own volition so as to not compromise my delicate stance on animal rights) to go into specifics. i might start with a diatribe against the vast cadre of public figures who use their celebrity only to further their own narcissism, wealth, and marketability. i mean, god forbid some public figure actually comment on one of the 5 million important things that are going on in the world. in closing, just fyi, do you know how many public figures (actors, musicians, etc) have it in their contract that they will only speak about their current 'project' during an interview? for example: 'so, mr. public figure, iraq has just been bombed and there are children dying in the streets, do you have an opinion?' 'i told you! i'm only here to talk about my new movie where i play a street smart, skateboarding detective with a rascally otter!' thanks, moby the *CENSORED*

and it's funny Moby apologized himself. So he still is a nice guy. ;)

and it's so amusing to see he call "My Heart Will Go On" as satanicide. :giggle: Celine is very satanicide. :lmao: I bet he has never watched "Le Blues Du Businessman" on ADISQ. :mdr:

I have absolutely no idea who Mylene is though.

Mylene is a real superstar in France and Europe on the whole. I personally don't like her. However, she has an amazing song I love. It's called 'Innamoramento'... Here's the song.

I was thinking the same

Innamoramento is a nice song, but the live version goes on and on.. forever with the refrain.
