When Someone Dies....

I think "my way" 's Céline or "je n'ai pas peur de mourir avec toi" are the most suitable for that sad moment!

but for her true songs, there are "the greatest reward", "goodbye's", "je t'aime encore", "tu nages", "les enfants oubliés", "la voix du bon dieu", "écoutez moi", "vole", "what a wonderful world" or "is nothing sacred"

Prayer from ANDHC album.

It´s one of my favorite songs.

The first time I heard a Céline song was during a funeral: Because You Loved Me

@ ANewDay... I'm shocked you picked "I'm Alive" :shocking: that's probably one of the most inappropriate songs to be played in a funeral

Believe or not I actually found comfort in a song from the Miracle album when my father died in 2004. The song is Sleep Tight. I know it's meant to be a lullaby for a child going off to sleep. But my father was found on his bathroom floor after being dead for 5 days. And while I listen to the words, "Now hush, my little one...there's nothing to fear...lay your head close to my heart" I pictured my grandmother (his mother in heaven) holding his head in her lap while he is dying, to keep him from being scared. There is more to the song that made think of him going to heaven like: "The heavens high above you, will light a path to find your way back home...let go your tiny hand and drift away to a bright enchanted land." It made me cry every time I listened to it, but it also helped me to think that he wasn't alone at a very scary time. I still listen to it at times, most of the time now it gives me a feeling of comfort. :shy: Sorry for going on about this, but I actually have been waiting for an opportunity like this to express to others who may need comfort at a difficult time such as the death of a loved one. I hope it helped. I think that this topic should be for people to express their feelings when someone they love dies, and based on what they tell us, we can suggest appropriate Celine songs for them to listen to, if they choose to. I just want to say that I am a Senior in High School and I have felt something pulling on my heart strings for years and I finally know what it is: a possible call to ministry. So, I am going ahead and going for it!

Goodbye's The Saddest Word, My Heart Will Go On, Fly, The Prayer, Prayer(from a new day has come album)

But I've really listened 2 My Heart Will go on, till help make it easier to ease myself to movin on with my life. I listen to this song for inspiration, and 2 know that even if ur going through a troublesome time, or have lost a love of yours. That ur heart will go on(some how some way), or feel content or comfortable to deal and make it through on top and stronger than ever before.

I'm seeing the enchanting Celine Dion in Las Vegas, Nevada; on June 14th, 2007. The time of my life is on it's way baby!

I would have to go with I Love you goodbye and My Heart Will Go On when it comes to times like this. The song that helps me push on with my life is A New Day Has Come. when I hear this song each time it make me a little more stronger the last time.

When my father died I hardly spoke english of french. I didn't have a song of a lyric. It was Celine's voice that soothed me. It worked perfectly.

When I had to have my dog put to sleep, I actually spoke "Vole" into her ears. It was one of the worst moments in my life, but that song really was fitting.

I'd listen to any of them knowing that they'd make me feel better knowing that if Celine knew she'd have compassion for me. I think an appropriate one would be "Call the Man" though. After all, "He's needed in the chaos and confusion..." It just helps me, as a religious person, realize that there's a reason for the passing of the person and that it's all in God's control.

Whatever the song we choose. I know that Celine is right there in spirit, holding our hands to pull us out of a pit of our own depression and sorrows to see the light of good things like love is stronger then anything the world has to throw at us. And sometimes all it take to get back up and fight another day is a kind loving voice like Celine to guide us through the darkness and back on our feet again. Edited by blue.grave

when I lost my grandmother I listened a lot to vole, call the man, a new day has come, prayer and (don't ask me why) prière païenne :P (for some reason that one, well, the melody, always cheer me up)

the refrigerator broke the same day she died (not very surprising , she was the one who made sure there was always food in there when you came home from your trip :wub2:), and go out buying a new one isn't exactly what you want to do the day after you lost your best friend, but Celine was with me and helped me make it through the day :in_love:

I recently had a good friend die from injuries sustained from a head-on collision with a drunk driver (he wasn't drunk). I met him at church camp and in July when Phyo (my church conference) get's together, on Thursday night I dedicated My Heart Will Go On to him and I got a STANDING OVATION! People were in tears and I actually got misty once or twice during the song. It was such a moving moment and I am so glad Celine sang that song. It is so appropriate for so many different occasions.

Has anyone read this?!?! I WANT FEEDBACK!
