I've seen it, and to be honest, I felt it to be a little too heavy on the Serb propaganda side of the argument for my liking.

Maybe you're right. I can't tell, at least by now, 'cause I don't know very much the history between Serbians and Croatians. One thing for sure is that, in a war, the damages are never made by the one side only!

This film has made me wanna learn more about. This film is a masterpiece.

I'll check out the movie you're talking about, I do understand the language. I was 9 years old when we (me & my family) escaped the war in 1993.

Oh, thanks!

It's a bit sad as memory, I suppose, but it's an experience that you've been through! You carry it in you "bag of memories"!

Well.. where I lived (croats and serbs) there were no bombings.. they (serbs) were only burning houses, killing people at night etc.. so it was not as horrible as in Vukovar.. I wasn't scared because I didn't understand it.. it was an adventure for me to hide in the woods at night.. or going far away from home to sleep at my (school)friends house. My parents were scared though..

I remember how we practiced at school how we shoud act and run to the schools shelter if something happened. Me and my cousin made a deal that we would run home to our parents instead.. thank god I didn't experienced that because the decision was kinda stupid.. but you know :whistling: kids..

Also there was a famous (how do you say?) camp? where serbs brought and killed a lots of people.. it was just 10 km away from where we lived..

You're talking about the ennemies Serbs, but I'm sure you know that Croats did atrocities as well! But, of course, you lived it this way, and above all, you were a child.

Oh, I don't have any problems with diffrent nationalities.. There were so many serbs who were agains the war, but thier voice was never heard. I'm sure croats did their too.. but you know how it is .. everybody is defending themselves..

I used to have a greek friend and she was talking so many bad things about turks. I'm sure you know the situation better then me.. (i still havent heard a turkish version) what I'm trying to say is that every nationality defends themselves to feel better or superior.. no matter what's really true.

I agree! That's also what the sociologues say: it's all about the stereotypes and the predjudices... we tend to believe ourselves better ones, and deteriorate the others! Kind of: "Greek people are famous for their hospitality" (+), or "Albanians are killers" (-).

About the Turks now,

I can't believe how blind can be greeks even nowadays... some of them, they believe THEY -themselves- have beated Turks out or something. They keep telling "we beated them out, bla bla bla..." It's a fact that our ancestrals have been under the oppression of the Turks, and at a time, they have pulled them away.... but I think the battle is over by now! It's stupid to continue this on our mind!!! WE, the greeks of today, have other problems to arrange!

There is always a problem going on with the Chypriots and the Turks, but I think I don't have a serious opinion to point out! It's tragical anyway...

Yes Albanians are killers: that's what most greek people believe about them, because of some incidents that happened after they arrived in Greece by masses. But that is true, only if it's true that the greeks who have travelled to America to work, were killers too. That's the "reputation" they made there!

That is the principle of generalisation!
