The Beastie Boys want to tour with Celine..

In his fantasy world, Diamond says he'd love to do a Vegas show with Dion.

 

"First off, it would be an extravaganza because it's in Vegas," he deadpans. "There would be a lot of water involved, like, her going down a waterslide and us going down a waterslide — her up on a trapeze. You know, us doing flips off a pontoon boat."

 

As for the other guys, they have more adventurous imaginary endeavors in mind. 

 

"I'm actually designing a ladies' watch right now," Yauch adds before erupting into a giggle fit and having to excuse himself from the interview for a moment. 

 

"It's kind of a comedy watch, so it breaks him up every time he starts thinking about it," Horovitz explains. 

 

Comedy watches? Céline Dion on waterslides? Chicken costumes? It's only 11 a.m., but by now, it seems the only probable source of the Beastie Boys' ridiculous-even-for-them-demeanor is perhaps some herbal or alcohol-related indulgence.

Yes, I think Coldplay could have the same reason too, maybe they want to get more publicity in the US.

 

Anyway, I think it would be cute to see Celine performing with the Beastie Boys... strange a bit but funny.

With the little english I can understand -and stand-, these guys are trying to turn Celine into ridiculous! If that's true, I don't think it suits them: "laughing at" other artists who are selling more than they can sell and who are respected for their talent... I mean, we're talking about Beastie Boys; they have a long career behind them... It doesn't suit them!

celine doesnt mean instant press....she isnt particularly popular in the media in the states these days. they're just joking around...nothing more. same with coldplay.

To be honest I think they were being sarcastic. It's very hard to tell these things from things in print, but I find it very and highly unlikely that an early 80's rock group would want to do a show with Celine. Especially a group like Beastie Boys. Just my two cents.
