I adore many of Celine's lesser known songs. Some of these choices are my favorites. These are AMONG my favorite English songs not released as singles. Which is yours?

I think Call the man because is a classic Celine's style song. With emotions and good music. Also The reason is surprice song by her is good. Anyway i pick Call the man.

I'd say Call The Man. Celine's voice sounds so sweet. Anyway, I'd say Because You Loved Me also can. My physics teacher and many of my friends in my class knows her by this song and is thoroughly impressed by Celine's voice and the meanings of the song.

I really would choose other songs to share. If it were someone who never heard Celine it would not be one of those, it would be... "S'il sufisait D'aimer" for French, and TPOL for English. :bye1:

I chose The Reason, but I Call the Man was close. I Surrender probably would be a good one....

I put Nature Boy on there beacuse many of my friends have become Celine fans because of that song. They despise her popular songs, and were looking for something totally different, and that song fit the bill.

 

 

As far as the song selections, I know that songs like "I Surrender" and "To Love You More", etc. showcase her voice more, however I think the songs I've chosen show her interpretation skills. :confused: :P

i'll share the song "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" to just anyone cos i know everybody knew and love that song. and i know there will be a lot of things to talk about such as the length of the song, the arrangement, the lyrics, the music video and.... the singer of course....

Being politically correct really sucks these days... so choosing a song to change their opinion about her music takes a serious thought process.

 

I would not choose Call the Man because of its religious connotations.

I would not choose The Reason because of its sexual connotations.

 

So I choose Refuse to Dance. I LOVE this song!

I will play this song whenever someone gets into my truck and they always ask... "Who was that? That song was unbelievable!" They are ALWAYS shocked when I say Céline. I explain that only the commercial CRAP (e.g. MHWGO) has ever been released and overplayed on the radio. She actually has some unbelievably AWESOME music!

With THANKS going out to Mia Michaels and her choreography for Calling You for Travis and Heidi this week on SYTYCD... more people are beginning to HEAR it!

Well, it really depends on what kind of person you're going to "convert"... :P

If it's someone who likes strong, emotional songs, I'd say "The Reason" or "Call the man". However, if the person prefers lighter songs, "Falling into you" would be more sensible...All these songs are so great!

The only thing is that, in my opinion, her work in French is definately the best, and I'd try to show albums like 1f4t or D'eux to really impress the listener... :w00t:

In my opinion the only song that can really impress someone is MY WAY in Celine's voice. And of course albums like 1F&4T :clap:

At first, The Reason, Call The Mand and Falling Into ARE single releases in Europe!

 

I would say I would share Where Is The Love, cause of the text being so strong so... I don't know how to put it but it really reflect the title of the song.

I totally agree. Her French work (from the 90s to present) are just on a different level from any of her English songs. However, a lot of people only like stuff they can understand....so that's why I only put English songs on the list...and I was as diverse as I could be! :D :clap:

Call The Man - because it shows all of her vocal ability and it's one of her best songs ever

Refuse To Dance - because it is so beautiful and haunting, something different in her repertoire.

"Call The Man shows Céline's vocal range in her best period. But it's a song with a very clear theme, people often don't like that when hearing a first song o an artist...

"Refuse To Dance" however is a swinging song that people don't expect, altough thay maybe heard once the name Céline Dion. So if people get interested in Céline I would let them listen to that song, of course before saying who is singing. ;)

As I mentioned before, I also find her French songs to be of a much higher quality and level of emotion, however I only chose English songs this time. My personal experience has been that English speaking people enjoy her English speaking songs more than her French songs at first.....then they will ease into her French songs once they have been properly introduced. :D

I agree, that's how I was, I had to let myself adjust to listening to her in French and now some of my fav's are french songs!
