keny Posted July 18, 2006 at 08:30 PM Posted July 18, 2006 at 08:30 PM Does anyone know if Celine's bodyguard is with her even in her family life? like going to the airport on the way to grandma's, if she and Rene and RC are at Chucky-Cheese, out shopping playing golf or bumming around town etc? Or, Is he only around when it's business. I would hate to think she has to be shadowed in all aspects of her life. It would be nice to think she could be an ordinary joe-lene out and about. I wonder if you were lucky enough to run into her someplace, would her BG stop you from saying hello and getting an autograph? If he is there, maybe he hides until a crisis happens. I don't know. I always wondered this. Quote

Celinesongs Posted July 19, 2006 at 03:16 AM Posted July 19, 2006 at 03:16 AM I believe Eric (her BG) is with her and the family whenever they go out. She stated in her new book that when she and Rene are out with RC, that she has requested Eric to ask that we respect her time with her son and don't try to talk with her and get pictures or autograph. We all know how shy RC is and he doesn't like all the flashes and strangers. What 5 yr old does. I agree and think we should respect her family time, she is trying to give her son as normal a childhood as possible. puffa Posted July 19, 2006 at 10:21 AM Posted July 19, 2006 at 10:21 AM WELL ... We all know that Céline is to much famous all around the world ... and we all know that there are some strange people who wants to get near Céline ... Can you imagine your self ... walking down a street with your husband and son ... and suddenly someone appear, making questions, asking for an autograph ... It's difficult ... Famous people have another point of view of famous life ... Most of all non-knwon people want to be famous ... and appear on TV ... It's normal ( I think ) BUT... well.known people want privacy ... And ... they only conquer her total privacy being at home or having a BG all the time. If you look at some pics when she is buying clothes ... at the door is always Eric ( her BG). Don't be sad ... Believe that is also hard to Céline having all the time a person in the middle of almost everything that she does. Sometimes people needs a time on the beach alone or with someone else ... Do you think Céline can have it?! Think how hard is for Céline ... JUS THINK! Céline is a "normal" person and needs time to share with her family ... Quote

Mireille Posted July 19, 2006 at 02:50 PM Posted July 19, 2006 at 02:50 PM It used to be Eric, but these days he's not her bodyguard anymore! It's Nick now and there are 2 or 3 other bodyguards as well. I think Celine, Rene and RC have their own bodyguard. In this crazy world, she needs to have bodyguards all the time. But if i would see her at a store or restaurant, i would not bother her and if she wants to say hi to me, that's ok! Like i will ever see her in a store! She's a a mother, and she needs to have some privacy with her family! I think when she's not at work, fans should not bother her! Quote
keny Posted July 19, 2006 at 02:56 PM Author Posted July 19, 2006 at 02:56 PM I agree with most of what you said however, the price you pay for being famous and remaining famous is the fans that want to meet you. I think if the fans ever feel that Celine in in accessible, that they get the feeling they can't aporach her in public, it could dirve them away and then the success will wane. Part of Celine's extreme success is the fact she loves her fans so much and they feel an afinity with her. If she is out and about she should be as accessible as any other individual. Most Celebs that I have met don't have BG's surrounding there entire life. I ran into Jenifer Aniston at a post office in Studio City a few years ago. She was nice said hello, no BG waiting to jump in and say "stay away. She wants to be left alone." Most celebs realize that that is the price you have to pay for fame. Can you imagine your self ... walking down a street with your husband and son ... and suddenly someone appear, making questions, asking for an autograph ... It's difficult ... It's normal ( I think ) BUT... well.known people want privacy ...<{POST_SNAPBACK}> I disagree with you. This topic seems to have a one-sided approach, such as you stating that one responsibility of a celebrity is to have an open-access. Whereas, from the celebrity's approach, they might seem bothered by this idea. I seem to think that even though celebrities have normal lives, they should have as much protection as they could, if they are able to afford it. They may feel grateful for the support of fans, but I feel that since they are working as professionals, they need to remain professional. They don't "owe" the fans anything, because it is the fan's free will to support them. I believe that every human being deserve the rights to be protected and the rights to privacy. As soon as a person is known, there are good people who supports them, and there are bad people who hates them, and there are psychos who wants to create trouble with them. Jennifer Aniston might have been nice to you and said "Hello" and I'm sure Celine would do that. But if you begin to ask questions or approach for a hug, discomforts most likely will develop. Celine herself has said in many interviews where she meets people in between flights and in many places. Most likely, Celine must have flown first-class, and/or was in affluent or professional circles. I think that's nice that she takes time to say hello, to touch their faces and say "Thank You," but I still feel that she needs to have bodyguards. Unfortunately, Celine has a lot of obsessive fanatics. Edited July 19, 2006 at 07:10 PM by Joy Quote http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n28/rhymereason/dreambig.jpg

Célinefull Posted July 21, 2006 at 08:10 AM Posted July 21, 2006 at 08:10 AM How would you feel, if you loved a celebrity so much, like a lot of us love Céline, you finally got the chance to meet her and she just looked at you and said "Get away from me" and then her bodyguards took you away. Papparazi is one thing, so are stalkers, but fans should not be treated like criminals, and neither should every person with a Céline related question on this forum.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> You went a little bit overboard with the last comment, D. lol I am sure every body on this forum would LOVVVVE to meet Celine, say "hi," ask her questions and get a timeless hug. But another one-sided factor comes to play, because even though a fan may know so much about an artist, the fan is a complete stranger to the artist. For everything on this green earth, there should be moderation. Bodyguards are there to protect the artist, WHEN something strange happens... but when nothing strange is happening, then they are just... there LOL. No one is being treated as a criminal here.It is "human" to discuss and to give opinions and viewpoints. I think it would be devestating to a fan who absolutely loves Celine, if she were to blow him/her off. But I don't think that has ever happened, or will ever happen. I have kept my comments in this thread relevant to the topic. I just want to say that it does not matter who or what we are... as long as we are Celine fans... we have dreams of the opportunity of meeting Celine... and in those dreams... sometimes we ponder about different ways to speak to Celine or different ways to approach her, different questions to ask her, how long our hug with her to be... just all of those things... The opening of this topic seemed a bit ...... uhhhhh.... Does anyone know if Celine's bodyguard is with her even in her family life? like going to the airport on the way to grandma's, if she and Rene and RC are at Chucky-Cheese, out shopping playing golf or bumming around town etc? I tend to get a bit talkative LOLI'm not Celine's keeper! I do hope that those of you that have dreams of meeting Celine may some day have the opportunity. Personally stalkers scare me and that's on thing I dislike about trying to head into the field of showbiz is that there are messed up people out there like that, can't people just realize that celebs are normal people too? I was recently reading this article about how this woman was stalking John Cusak adn she was sending him like love letters everyday to his house and s*it like that... that crap is just messed up. Anyways, back on track, persoanlly I could care less if Celine has a bodyguard stuck to her side at all times or not, I guess when you're someone on that kinda level though, it's safer for you to walk around with one because people have issues and you never know who'll try what. celinerific Posted July 23, 2006 at 04:06 PM Posted July 23, 2006 at 04:06 PM I'm trying to imagine what I'd do if I ran into her in some random place and her bodyguard there. I suppose I'd really try hard not to freak out and not to wet myself . But I wouldn't scare her or anything. I'd make myself feel bad if I did scare her. I'd feel terrible for being dragged away. It's not a good feeling to have your idol's bodyguard throw you off. But some people need that, cos they're just too "over excited". I've been day-dreaming all the time that Celine would come into my dad's restaurant one day, and I'd be sitting there like a statue. And she walks by and all I can do is stare.. But of course I'd let everyone know I was their waitress.. It'd give me a VERY good reason to talk to her. .Ooohhh yes, day-dreams are fun. Lawna Posted July 24, 2006 at 03:29 AM Posted July 24, 2006 at 03:29 AM Well I always like to remember what Celine said "You cannot ask people to buy your records, buy your new book, buy tickets to your show, [and say] leave me alone." She likes to remind her fans that it's okay, we are normal human beings... On the other hand, I do agree and understand that Celine wants and should get the respect and privacy she deserves when she is with her son RC. LIke someone pointed out, Celine chose the spotlight not RC. Althought I think I would be to scared to approach Celine anyway, I'd be to worried of what she might think of me lol. So I probably would admire her from a far and then beat myself over the head about why i didn't run up to her and give her a hug lol.
