Songs you'd NOT want to lose from A New Day...

After "all" (they are not so many by number but huge by quality) song removals from the show, most of us is reacting like "no, take this one out instead! Or this! Or this!".

 

We have a pretty good idea what we all want out by now (WAWW,LCMM,IIC etc). But which songs would you if you could "protect" from ever being taken out of the show? (Already removed songs included)

 

Mine are (in 2 categories, 1 which by all needs must not be taken out of the show, and 2 which is needed for the show and I want to stay but I don't want to stay as much as category 1):

 

1)

 

Seduces Me - this song is the best track Céline has ever recorded in English, so deep and honest and artisticly soulful. And I simply adore the way it is arrenged in this new intro and outro + the way Céline inprovises at the end.*

 

I Surrender - THE powerballad since MHWGO, it's a huge shame it never was a single, now for some reason it's in the show - keep it in the show!

 

Fever - (Yea I know it's out) the hottest number of the show, finally she decides to do tracks which suits her so well (50ies music) and the improv in the outro is heaven. * PLEASE TAKE IT BACK IN!

 

The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face - never liked this track at all before until I saw it performed at the Opening Night Live - that ought to mean something. Céline flew and took the show to a new level. It was a parade number of the show and a high light and a real mood setter. The arrengements in this version is far better than in any other versions she's done of this song. Brings magic to the show. PLEASE TAKE IT BACK IN!

I Got The World On A String - Once again a 50ies track, which is also a marvelous show number, it lifts the show.

 

It's All Coming Back To Me Now - the power and the visuals of this performance the show can't be without.

 

Ammore Annascunutto - It's a new song and it has this wonderful mystic feeling about it, adds a lot to the magic feeling of A New Day.

I'm Alive! I loooooove this song and I enjoy watching the performance. I look forward to it everytime I see the show!

 

I also love The Power of Love (but, I don't think that will ever be removed), A New Day Has Come, and Pour Que Tu M'Aimes Encore.

There are a few, but the song that HAS to be kept in no matter what is "A New Day Has Come". That song, the ballad version, live is just PURE magic! Everytime I hear it I get goosebumps..

 

Others that shouldn't be taken out are:

 

The Power Of Love (definately part of the show)

It's All Coming Back To Me Now (beautiful scenery and I just love the song)

I'm Alive (fun upbeat song which is good for the boring business people)

Seduces Me (also part of the show)

At Last (I've grown used to them and they just belong in AND)

Fever (same)

I've Got The World On A String (same)

I Surrender (pure for the dress, it has to stay)

Ammore Annascunutto (also part of the show)

Pour Que Tu M'Aimes Encore (only French song, very important, though if it would be replaced with Destin or ONCP I wouldn't mind it that much)

My Heart Will Go On (overplayed, but it has to stay in the show, the scenery is amazing and that intro..wow!)

What A Wonderful World (belongs in the show, but it shouldn't be the last song)

I Surrender All for me! This is my most favorite song in the show and on the ANDHC album. It is truely a shame that this song was never released as a single. I think this song would have kept Celine Alive on radio stations instead of GBTSW.

I had to choose 'I Surrender' but a very very close second is 'Fever' (I really wish they would put this back in, I was really looking forward to seeing it!!!) I would probably protect ANDHC as well because the ballad version live is and I anticipate it greatly! The others could really all change and I would be happy, I just wanna see the show!!!

I voted for Ammore Annascunutto. Isn't a song of her repertoire, I know but as you say, it gives a mystic touch to the show. I would love others songs like A New Day Has Come because that's an amazing intro and Fever *sigh* why?.

A New Day Has Come MUST stay for obvious reasons. The show is called A New Day, so it only makes sense to have it a part of the show. Plus, I remember when I first saw AND, and watching Celine come down the "stairs" singing A new day....ahhhahhh...A new day....ahhhahhh...ohhhhhhh it gives me goosebumps! I LOVE IT!!!

I voted for TPOL but I feel the same way about IA. These two songs, for me, represent what AND is all about. The imagery, set design, dancing, costumes, etc during TPOL are so perfectly crafted and executed. They should end the show with this song instead of that snoozefest WAWW.

 

And the same goes for IA, where most (if not all) the dancers are on the stage, while the huge screen projects that magnificent shot of Times Sq. The song itself is ok but Dragone has crafted it into something really special.

I chose "A New Day Has Come". I have seen this show three times(in the front row). All three times, this songs has opened the show. Celine takes us on a journey with this show...and without this song, it wouldn't be a complete show. As many agree, I think "I Surrender" is the cream of the crop as far as her live performance is concerned...however, there is something magical and totally necessary about ANDHC.

i would keep AA as well, i surrender, IDAN, MHWGO and WAWW, simply because they represent the whole show o me...

And I don't think too many people would be happy without The Power of Love. I LOVED how she opened the Falling Into You concert with that song. However, I can't believe she didn't sing "Falling Into You" on the taped Memphis concert. That was such a great song....and I understand that it doesn't translate as well onstage as it does on the album, but neither did "Seduces Me". And she's still singing that one! But I'm not complaining!

 

But yeah, I think The Power of Love is just one of those songs that people expect to hear at her concert....because she is our lady!

I agree with you on this. This song is amazing, and she sang it so emotionally, on the bootleg you mentionned.

I would keep in "Ammore Annascunnuto".....I totally love that song...it's an orgasm...but I would remove "I Wish", "Love Can Move Mountains" and "I Drove All Night"...Once Celine said she would love to sing "Love Is All We Need" on A New Day...I think it would be a great idea to try it..."Destin" wpuld be so cool to add it again (even if she sang it so many times).

But the song I would keep for sure is AA and TPOL (that's because I saw that somebody said it would be better off-I say NO).
