Which song is your favorite that Celine covered?

Wow! I haven't realized there were so many! And I even left out some that were previously recorded by relatively unknown artists... I don't like covers very much, especially when half of an album is taken by them. But some songs that Celine covers still can be fresh and interesting. As if she gives new life to them and her trademark beautiful clear voice

So which one do you like best?

I can't stand it when I hear Jenifer Rush's version... Sounds like the song is slowed!

 

I can listen to Céline's version again and again without being bored of it!

Ok..I tried to think about this. I love so many, but I have to pick "The Power of Love". I simply adore that song..it's one of my favourite Celine songs.

It was a difficult decision!! But for me , IDAN is the best!!

 

Btw, she has covered many songs. That's not so good!

I voted Fever to get more votes on that one, hehe. But really I'd choose TPOL for sure, it is her greatest hit according to me, hehe, trying to forget MHWGO for a while. Non fans love TPOL and as familiar hate MHWGO.

 

Otherwise I think Blue Christmas is a good cover, also Ave Maria, her wonderful performance of Summer Time. Bewitched is quite nice. Natural Woman is nice (although if it was recorded today and with another producer than David Foster I know it would be brillant).

 

L'Amour Existe Encore is of course one of her greatest covers. And more but I can't remember them right now...

The original version "Puisque tu pars", by Jean-Jacques Goldman is also adorable, and it'd be awesome to listen to Celine singing this song in french, the lyrics are really deep and beautiful.

but anyway TPOL and ABM are her best covers, since as some of you agreed, people don't associate these songs to jennifer and eric (who are they?!?! ), but to our celine instead ...good job, then...

 

i like her version of IDAN, even tho i prefer the original version base, more rock instead of "dance"...

Although at times most of these songs have been my favorite, currently my favorite Celine song is Nature Boy. She really blew me away without belting out with her classic abilities. It's just such a quiet, clean, sexy, beautiful song....and it's always a favorite with my friends in the car!

I know what you mean... I remember that day. Nobody was waiting for a new single and suddenly IDAN came on the web... the radio remix. I heard that song and just said to myself; "OMG!!! That's such an amazing and POWERFUL uptempo song!" And I felt in love... LOL
