What Laura Pausini said about Celine.

"Her 2002 attempt at breaking through in the United States with an English album called ``From the Inside'' wasn't as successful, but she said she would consider trying again on her own terms.

 

``The record company wants me to do songs by other people, like many pop singers do,'' she says. ``But I see myself more as a songwriter. I will do it, if I can translate my own songs into English.''

 

She likes the challenge, she says, of learning a new language and writing in it.

 

``I feel America doesn't need another Celine Dion,'' she says. ``I didn't choose music for a living to be a star or sing something I don't believe. I need to feel the music in my veins.''

 

Her songs are autobiographical, she says. ``They happened to me. And it sounds strange, but many times when I write a song, it's like I'm telling myself something I didnt know"

I'm sure that her words were misunderstood guys, Laura has always been fan of Céline, and in the most of the cases, the press always has to get bigger lots of lies . As it's said on a recent interview they've done to her when she won the grammy, the night before the ceremony she was listening to Céline's music to don't feel nervous I've also sent her ANDLILV, and she loved it so much

i don't think i even want to know who LAURA PAUSINI is, frankly...

 

obviously, she's a rookie in the business as, a true star, who had true star tact, professionalism, and class would never have said such a thing (e.g., CELINE never disses anyone)...

 

if she had any clue what she was doing (or saying, for that matter), she would have, rather than discuss who she does NOT want to be like, talk about who she ASPIRES to be like (e.g., lara fabian, shakira, chantal kreviazuk)...

 

regarding CELINE's songwriting skills, i honestly do not think that they are all that developed, but i could be wrong; in fact, no one really knows for sure how much she writes, if she's more of a music composer than a lyricist, or vice versa, or equally good at both...

 

what i can say, in defense of CELINE, is that with a voice like her's, which is the focus of her music (and NOT the songs she sings), and being in the genre of pop/adult contemporary, it's no wonder that she chooses to work with different songwriters and musicians (whom, might i add, line up to have CELINE even consider their work); variety is the spice of life, and it's worked extremely well for her over the years...

 

and if you look at artists like MARIAH and SHANIA (whom i still respect), who claim to be songwriters, note how they always collaborate with others; this means, in all honesty that these two could come up with something horrible, run it by their COLLABORATOR, only to have the who thing totally transformed and revamped; is this really songwriting?

 

CELINE is a singer before she is a songwriter and, lately, a mother and wife before she is a singer...

 

i totally respect what she does...

 

as for LAURA, well, who cares what she says; and with such harshness, i do not expect her career to soar to the skies, but rather, maybe to belly flop into the waters...

Laura Pausini has been in the business for like 20 years. She sings nice, of course she is no Celine.

 

She is saying that Celine only sings, does not write the songs. And that she (Laura Pausini) has to write the songs in order to feel them, that is in her case. She chose the career because she likes to write the songs, about her experiences. She says there are a lot of singers in America, and she wants to be one who writes and sings.

Wasn't successful??? Only in the USA but around the world she's very famous and she had and has still nowadays a big success! If you don't like her it's different! She also sung in portuguese...i liked that song because my mother is portuguese and I understood those words she sung....

Sorry I didn't make myself clear. I meant she is bitter because she was not sucessful in USA.

I know who Laura is and has I've said, I was even a fan a long time ago. I might still have a few songs around here. I know she was been very sucessful internationaly.

Sorry, but do you really think that she was able to sing in Paris during her last concert if she doesn't have voice? Do you have already seen this DVD? I know Céline it's better! But you can't say she doesn't have voice just because Celine is your favourite singer! Try to be objective

yes maybe i'm say that because i really like celine but, i've seen videos and heard laura's songs and i well i can't said that she sings bad is just like her voice is not the most beautiful of course she can sing and i like some of her songs ,but i also say that her coment about celine that she didn't feel the music, i mean that's not true!!

about laura, after reading most of your comments, i have to step back a little bit...probably i did misunderstood her, actually if i think about it she's always been kinda sweet, tho in itlay she's worshiped in a silly and excessive way...

 

apart from that, i like her, maybe she doesn't have such a big voice but she know how to use it, and the live in paris dvd...man, it really is great, she hits each and every note perfectly... ..i wish you'd feel like watching it...i'm sure you'd enjoy....

Hi, I have not heard of this artist before, so I don't know what she sounds like particularly.

However I do know that the press often print what someone says in a way that will stir up controversy, i.e that she is dissing Celine somehow, when maybe it was not actually meant to be taken that way.

Of course without clarification of this we dont know what she really meant
