AdamTokyo Posted June 28, 2006 at 05:56 PM Posted June 28, 2006 at 05:56 PM Undoubtedly, I still prefer Celine's versions. If you still haven't heard of Jean-Jacques's original versions, here's the links for you guys to download: La-bas (avec Sirima): http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OZA8F2RC Puisque tu pars: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XVXEVG70 Quote
Giulia Posted June 28, 2006 at 06:31 PM Posted June 28, 2006 at 06:31 PM I love let's talk about love when children sing! Quote Celine...La colonna sonora della mia vita. Il mio cuore batterà per te per sempre...!
nati Posted June 28, 2006 at 07:04 PM Posted June 28, 2006 at 07:04 PM I don't understand the question? Quote Thanks Celine for the great memories. I will never forget you
AdamTokyo Posted June 28, 2006 at 07:38 PM Author Posted June 28, 2006 at 07:38 PM Sorry guys, I didn't make it clear. Celine sang "La-bas" live with Jean-Jacques Goldman at "Les enfoires au Grand Rex" in 1994. But before that in the late '80s, Jean-Jacques did record this song with Sirima in his album "Entre Gris Clair Et Gris Fonce". As for "Puisque tu pars", Celine's "Let's Talk About Love" is the adaptation of it. Jean-Jacques recorded it in that same album too. Quote
AdamTokyo Posted June 28, 2006 at 07:42 PM Author Posted June 28, 2006 at 07:42 PM Sorry, I should have separated "La-bas" from "LTAB" and "PTP" cos they are different songs. Bellamy, Koolan, help me please!! Quote
Un Rêve Posted June 28, 2006 at 07:48 PM Posted June 28, 2006 at 07:48 PM Okay, Là-Bas with Céline, hands down, no question! What a song, the lyrics are beautiful and those 2 together is an unbeatable combination!! Quote
DjCeline Posted June 28, 2006 at 09:00 PM Posted June 28, 2006 at 09:00 PM i voted for La-bas Quote http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b21/DjCeline/thereasonigoonsiggycopy.jpg http://therasmusforum.com/images/streetteam/promo/blackroses08.jpg http://therasmusforum.com/images/streetteam/promo/banner_streetteam1.jpg
Shonah Posted June 28, 2006 at 10:09 PM Posted June 28, 2006 at 10:09 PM I LOVE Céline's song by far!! She just has an amazing voice that is so incredible that no one can beat even though there are amazing singers out there!! Quote http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g21/celinerific2/NewYear07-Sig.jpg
nagyorsi Posted July 5, 2006 at 11:41 AM Posted July 5, 2006 at 11:41 AM La-bas is really nice, but I voted for Let's Talk About Love. Quote
AdamTokyo Posted July 5, 2006 at 11:47 AM Author Posted July 5, 2006 at 11:47 AM Anybody heard of this before? I found it in an FAQ website. 'La Bas' (with Jean-Jacques Goldman)Celine did this duet with Goldman on the 'Les enfoires au Grand Rex' which was a charity CD. Incidentally, before this duet, Goldman had the female part of the song done on a sax because Sirima, a Sri Lankan singer Goldman found on the Paris subway, who did the original female part was murdered by her husband out of jealousy. Goldman thought it best to do the song like that since he loved Sirima's voice and wanted to pay tribute to her by not letting another woman sing it when he was on tour. Quote
LaFeeRailleuse Posted July 5, 2006 at 12:48 PM Posted July 5, 2006 at 12:48 PM Là-Bas! What a lovely song! The lyrics are so romantic! I love it! Quote
George Woodson Posted July 5, 2006 at 04:38 PM Posted July 5, 2006 at 04:38 PM Hi, I think that I would prefer the versions that Celine sings, but I did really enjoy it when Jean-Jaques and Celine sang them together. Quote
celdia_5 Posted July 8, 2006 at 07:16 AM Posted July 8, 2006 at 07:16 AM La-bas (Jean-Jacques with Celine),too Quote
celinedrop Posted August 20, 2006 at 05:19 AM Posted August 20, 2006 at 05:19 AM Nice topic!!In first place, I gotta say that I LOVE Jean-Jacques, as a matter of fact, I'm listening to a song of his right now! Of course I prefer Celine's voice in LTAL, but "Puisque tu pars" is a great song as well, a lot sadder, but really interesting..."La-bas" is also wonderful, the music, the lyrics, Celine kinda "act" when she sings it live...she looks sad and desperate indeed! By the way, I love all the duets she's made with JJ, like J'irais ou tu iras, Des Milliers Des Baisers and Apprends-moi... I do think Celine should sing more songs made by him!! They're simply the best of the best! Quote **How did you know that I would play the part?I must have I made it clear right from the start**
songbird Posted August 20, 2006 at 07:23 AM Posted August 20, 2006 at 07:23 AM I think that after Celine performed "La Bas" in 1994 with JJG, there was no place left for any other singer to inovate this song. Many have tried (my beloved Helene Segara as well, but not with JJG...), but there never was and there will never be another voice that suits the song so perfectly! You know... when she first enters the stage and sings the first line "n'y va pas"... my God... it's breath-taking... cdfan Posted August 20, 2006 at 05:19 PM Posted August 20, 2006 at 05:19 PM Why La-bas is in this poll? I think I don't understand that poll. What is it about? Quote

Alice Posted August 24, 2006 at 10:06 PM Posted August 24, 2006 at 10:06 PM La-bas is one of my very favorite songs EVER! The way Celine and JJG interpret it, they really make it sound like a dialog. The lyrics, the music, the two voices, Celine, this song's perfect Quote
