Back from Vegas

Just got back from Vegas on Thursday. I went to see the Saturday 6/10/06 show.

I had ordered my ticket from Ticketmaster back in February or March the first day one of the blocks of tickets went on sale and got a second row "BB" orchestra ticket. I knew the ticket was good, second row but I was not sure where it was in the row. When I picked the ticket up at Caesar's the woman at the counter was excited for me and told me the ticket was right in the center of the aisle, which ended up being perfect. It was the closest I've been to the stage so far.

 

The show was great, as usual, although the other times I have been to the show it usually started exactly at 8:30 pm and this one started at around 8:45 pm.

 

As has been discussed recently she did drop "Fever" for "All the way" and she does wear that new white dress for some songs. I also noticed they dropped the part during the Frank Sinatra melodys where she used to walk down the "stairs" created by the dancers. But other than those subtle changes the show is the same.

 

One thing that was lacking a little bit to me was the audience. The audience, especially for a Saturday night, seemed a little lifeless at first but they seemed to enjoy the show. At the end of the show she ended up giving the rose to the person almost directly in front of me which was cool because then she was really close to me. It almost seemed surreal to see her so close up.

 

Before and after the show I tried to hang out in the front of the theater to see if I could spot any Celine related people. I was hoping to spot Rene but I never saw him. But after the show, I was hanging around outside the doors of the theater when I saw this rather large man that looked very familiar to me. He was talking to two people who had "Guest" stickers on and had one of those security type earphones on. That's when it hit me that it was Celine's bodyguard (From pictures I'd seen on this web site!). I forgot his name but I'm sure many of you will know it. I later saw him with the same people in the Celine shop. He seemed familiar with the guests like they were family members or something like that. Either that or they were contest winners.

 

I was going to talk to him but since he was with these people I kind of felt uncomfortable so I did not. I think if he was alone I would have said "hi". Also I don't know what his reaction would be if I said "Hi, hey aren't you Celine's bodyguard?" But it was fun to see him regardless.

 

Before going in to be seated in the theatre I asked one of the ticket attendents when the show was going to finish in 2007. What suprised me is she said either March or May. March?! Would it end that soon?! I can't say that I would rely on her information to me but I was under the impression the show would end near the latter months of 2007.

 

 

One last comment. I was at work on Friday and someone had left out a "People" type magazine on the table (I think it was "In Touch"). It turned out to be from 2005!. I was leafing through the thing when I stopped on this page and see a picture of some skinny, attractive woman on a beach somewhere. At first I thought it was some supermodel or actress and it was...you guessed it Celine!

It was taken at some beach somewhere and she had RC with her. It's a candid photo of her walkng on the beach but she looks great. The comment was that the people on the beach that spotted her could not believe what good shape she was in. It was definitely a picture for her to be proud of. I'm sure someone has it posted on this site somewhere.

 

Well enough of my long winded review. I hope to see her again before she leaves LV.

That's so awesome you were so close to CELINE! 2nd row, front / center? WOW! You should've brought a magnifying glass with you, so that when Celine approached, you could've pulled her in a little closer with your gadget! just a joke

I must say that many people work for Caesars really don't what's going on at all. They give out all kinds of different answers. Better don't believe what they tell, unless there's proof.

Well YOU definitely had a great experience when you got to actually meet Celine!
