Amazing live performances: Ave Maria & Bozo live

[Céline's Blues]

Ave Maria: She blew it! OMG, it was definitely a heavenly performance even if she's not an operatic singer. She sung with such a fragility in her voice and went so high at one point....it was so magical as if she indeed didn't want to show off at all, just poured her emotion out.

 

Bozo: Charles Aznavour introduced her on stage. She came out with her 1997 typical blown-up hair and began to sing. What a performance! The string quartet was so emphasizing each and every word and emotion in this song. The drama without high notes, her lyrical interpretation are GRAND, simply excellent. This performance defines her as one of best live performers ever.

About Bozo:

 

Céline performed Bozo two times. In 1983 when a new big theatre was named after Felix Leclerc (famous Canadian artist) who was also in attendance. Then almost 10 years after his death Charles Aznavour organized a special gala when he then told Céline's story on stage before she came in. SHE WAS BREATHTAKING on stage. BREATHTAKING.

 

Ave Maria:

This was recorded originally by Barbra Streisand and Céline sang it for the Xmas gala Les demons du midi in 1987.

Yes,there is a similarity between Barbra's and Céline's rendition of the song.

Maybe they were trained in latin by the same man: Eddy Marnay.

Thank you for the mp3. I'd never heard the live performance of that song. but I prefer Barbra Streisand's version because she seems to reach the highest notes more easily.
