I always love the penalties... Italy managed to score 5 out of 5, now that is something! It's as if Barthez wasn't even there! France played well, but Italy did better. Congratulations Italy! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Barthez wasn't worse than Buffon! Buffon didn't stop ANY of our penalties either! He didn't stop Trézéguet's one, it was just a mistake... I don't think Italy played better! They won on penalties... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd say the game was pretty equal. Italy got the cup, let them celebrate. France has had its moments and with a magnificent team like that they will win lots of important games in the years to come. Apart from one game, I believe Italy deserved to win. After all, France didn't start off that well either. Anyway, though my favourites became fourth, I'm glad people gave them the most entertaining team award. Quote

It seems that nominations and awards are valid only if it is Zidane to receive them.. France played well, I don't deny that, but Italy did better...it's easy to say that it has been a LUCKY question...Penalties are always difficult and personally I hate them just because winning during the match is completely different, more spectacular and great....But now french have to accept the defeat, and I also think that France would not have scored the goal at the beginning without the penalty kick of zidane, our defence system, as the abroad press said, is one of the better of the world. Zidane says he doesn't regret anything he did because if he did, it'd mean the italian was right to say that... he's apoligizing to everyone. He's saying something SO TRUE, that the one who receives the red card should be the one who provokes the other, who is the real guilty, before giving it to the one who reacts ("though what I did is not acceptable") !!!!!!!
