Ooh, out of that list I would love to hear 'Immortality', 'Call The Man', 'Nothing Broken..' & 'Think Twice' again, but I chose for 'That's The Way It Is'.. B)

For me it's The Power Of The Dream, it's such a big and inspirational song, plus it ends on a fantastic note!

OK, don't get me wrong or something but how can one think of the bluntness TPOTD as inspirational when you have there something truly poetic like "S'il Suffisait D'aimer" where Céline dwells on a matter larger than life, something that is not entierly understood yet (understood ...yes, but never acted upon in a right thoughtful way), about the complexity of a human being, the concious schizophrenia of ours, the fear of living one's own life against thee norm.

 

Till today my stomach is turning upside down when I think about all the reviews I have read about ppl going out during almost each of the LTAL concerts just cuzz she sang in French. And just cuzz it happens to be her best song that has something to say. Without the strained notes, without the fake histrionics.

 

Unfortunately Céline is the only one fault here basing her career on bland big notes that bring very little substance but sound impressive just for the sake of it. Certain songs don't need any notes. Then again ppl think differently and that's the reason SISDA sold only the half of what D'eux sold.

 

Not that the other songs you mentioned in the poll aren't nice live but to me they are nothing in comparison to a lil shining jewel that sparkles amidst his big golden -rated brothers. And it overshadows them on top of that despite being a small seemingly unobtrusive sparkle. A sparkle which you can't help but notice and ask yourself why such an inane lil light is still shining through although it actually should have gotten lost in the stagger...

Siur, I totally agree with you about S'il Suffisait D'aimer. It is truely one of my favourite Celine songs. The first time i heard it was on the Au coure Du Stade DVD and i was almost in tears. Absolutely gorgeous.

 

And i never knew that people walked out of the concert becuase she sang a song in French. How absurd. Some of my very favourite Celine songs are in French.

 

As for the song i really miss, i had to vote Think Twice. There were many great songs listed up there, but i voted Think Twice because i just want to see her sing it live for me. I missed her when i was growing up and would love to see her perform this song, amoung others, at a concert!!

For me it's J'Attandais but thats not an option....so I've picked Water From The Moon..very vunerable singing this song..and I love that..

I've always wondered what Celine would sound like these days, performing some of the powerful songs like... All By Myself, The Power of the Dream, and Where Does My Heart Beat Now. She's not as vocally powerful as she used to be. I wonder if she would still be able to do these songs... What are your thoughts?

I voted for "That's The Way It Is." I love the song and it was a major hit for Celine. As for other songs that weren't on the list I would have to say "Le ballet," "Dans un autre monde," "Terre," "Regarde-Moi," "Misled," "Ten Days," "Refuse To Dance," and "Delivre-Moi."

yeah there's loads but i just picked random ones. I did think of All By Myself, but i've always found some of the performances are predictable and have a formula that everyone know by now which is why i didn't include it.

I miss all her "S'il suffisait d'aimer " album, especially "En attendant ses pas". This is one of the sweetest songs ever made, in my opinion... :wub:

 

I also miss "Let's talk about love", for its softness and great beauty.

for me, it's definitely WHERE DOES MY HEART BEAT now, as this was her FIRST breakthrough hit to chart well on BILLBOARD and gain her much noteriety...

 

i also question why THAT'S THE WAY IT IS was added, as, i feel, she never toured with this song (to the best of my knowledge), and also, she very rarely sang it LIVE...

my very favourite televised performance of WATER FROM THE MOON was, without a doubt, when she performed a pre-recorded ACOUSTIC PIANO RENTITION of NBBMH (with MEGO on piano, of course)...

 

this performance was on the MMVAs back in, erm, im gonna say 1992, and it was when ANDRE DESROCHERS won the MMVA for his work on the video for NOTHING BROKEN BUT MY HEART...

 

i used to have it on VHS, but somehow erased it...

 

anyway, if ANYONE could ever post this song ONLINE, im sure that ALL CELINE fans would be positively floored...

 

she so sounds great with just a piano accompanying her...

Anything...anything at all. We've had the same setlist of songs for so long now, I miss almost all of her old songs. I'd be up to hear any different song than the ones we've had for the past few years!!

I voted for The last to know, she really doesn't do her old songs justice and I would love to hear her sing TLTK, NBBMH, TT, TTWII, live again, but better yet I would like to hear songs she never sang live before! :clap: like TLBSEPT, MTOBIS, US, IKWLI, IHT, NBP, DMDB, TLDH...... oh there are hunderds :blushing: :cry:

It's such a powerful song, and Celine did it so great with the choir.

Such as All By Myself all by herself. :D
