Cause all rehersals for 20 something nights since early March, 2003, before the real opening night have audience. But it's free, don't need to buy ticket.

 

Cause it's pre-recorded, not really live as they advertised, maybe it's technical problem.

If she was performing for people (regardless of whether they paid or not) and she knew she was being filmed for a TV special, why oh why did she not give 100% both physically and vocally, and give the same performance quality of the true Opening Night? I can understand if they were only dress rehearsals for the media, but to be filmed and STILL treat it like a rehearsal...that's rather strange, isn't it?

That's the very point confirming my theory about her not giving a DAM about what others think or better: what the general public thinks. She indeed gives her all when it comes up to performing and seeing her live in person but on the official events in the last 10 years she's more: Whatever, like me or not I'll do whatever I want to.

 

The WMAs 2004, Opening Night CBS special, Today Shopw 2003, the live Vegas CD, the scrapped Vegas DVD...

I remember reading reviews from people who went to the rehearsal taping (two or three weeks before the real opening night of March 25th 03) and there were posters up saying the show would be filmed for CBS and that they had to agree to be filmed or they couldn't enter the Colosseum.

 

The real opening night was much better, as we know from the very first bootleg! And Celine's spiky hair made her look more attractive than the boyish hair she had during the CBS rehearsal show.

The rehersal days were also when they toyed around with the idea of the giraffes. I've always wished that they would bring them back even for a week or so. If anyone can tell us what the giraffes were used for, what song, or whatever, it would be MOST appreciated. Also, everyone keeps talking about how "Love Is All We Need" was rehersed and then eventually nixed. Can anyone confirm this, and also tell us how it was performed?

I was in theater in the 5th grade in elementary school and I can assure you that the first presentation of something is never the best. And a lot of the time, rehearsals can be a lot better than the actual first performance. This being because you don't have the pressure of knowing that so many people are watching you, some waiting to judge your performance.

 

Think of it this way. When a cast a crew make a movie, why do you think the actors do so many takes before they finally put a scene in the movie? The first time you act the scene out, even if you don't make any mistakes, sometimes it's just not right. So they do take after take before getting it just right to put into the final production.
