It all has to do with wether you are being paid in that currency too..so you can't go by the translation to $US.

It just reminds of how in countries with lower per capita income, the moderate technology in US societies are complete luxuries over there.

People in Sierra Leone make less than a thousand dollars a year, so even Coca Cola is a luxury.
