La cantante ha così dovuto lasciare il programma televisivo statunitense da lei condotto, "Nashville star", ed è stata sostituita da Sara Evans. La Rimes, che abita a Nashville, Tennessee, ha dovuto cancellare anche tutti i suoi altri impegni. Pare che il problema sia scaturito da una forte bronchite virale che l'aveva colpita all'inizio dell'anno. La cantante dovrebbe comunque recuperare in tempo per una sua importante esibizione, quella del prossimo 23 maggio a Boston con l'orchestra Boston Pops Orchestra.
