stevo Posted May 12, 2006 at 11:39 AM Posted May 12, 2006 at 11:39 AM (edited) Hi guys! I'm back from Vegas and my first Celine experience- DREAM COME TRUE!!! It was such a good time from start to finish. Vegas truly is a Celine fan's paradise at the minute- especially as I come from the UK where it's a rarity that you hear about her. The airport has huge billboards as soon as you come off the plane and when you collect your bags, ads for the show play on the screens! I was in heaven. So me and my mum had tickets for the 500th show on Sunday but I had also bought us tickets for the show on the 5th May on the Friday. I wanted to see the show with the beautiful Ungaro dress before it might be changed on the Sunday. So we went and shopped in the boutique- i got mugs, magnets, a t-shirt, a poster, pictures...so much fun, then the show on Friday- AMAZING, as expected. We were there early so I got a celine Margherita for $14 (worth it) and heard Celine doing her sound check- she sang 4 songs- LCMM, All the Way (so it was actually added before Sunday) I'm Alive and IDAN. I couldn't believe it. The show itself was fantastic, although we were up in the nose bleed seats of 2nd Mezz- and her head was chopped off the big screen. That was the only slight annoyance. All the Way was brilliant and I was so pleased to hear her sing this live- she sounded so smooth the whole night. I had palpitations when she came out foe ANDHC and I was crying. It's so beautiful how the show starts. Amazing. On Sunday, we got to Colosseum at about 7.15 and people were already gathering. I noticed some of Celine's band getting interviewd- I got my pic took with Andre Coutou- I couldn't belive it, he was such a nice guy. I must have looked hardcore with my wee tight Celine t-shirt on. Then mum noticed Rene popping his head out the door- he then got mauled by fans and came out and took pics with 2 couples- then I was frantically taking pics and this very nice guy offered to take my pic if Rene would say yes, which he did. I nearly pooped myself. He looked so well- I was starin at him- his skin is so perfect! So the show- you've prob all read other reviews about all the changes but I loved them all- the new outfits make the show even more glamorous. The black lace top she wears with the pants is lovely and the new MHWGO dress looks proper Diva. PQTME was my fav performance in the whole show because it close-ups to just her face and she's staring right at you doing the whole winking Celine thing. I loved it. The audience was much better on the Sunday (as expected) but on both nights they really went for ATW, so I was pleased about that. At the end of the show when they were giving out the awards, Celine was so funny, mocking Rene and his inability to work out the winners' seat numbers. She was like "honey, remember me, i'm your wife, I can help- I might be here all the time but I'm still your wife" and she did a few little riffs like "everybody dance now". The audience loved her. I loved her and the whole experience has made me more of a fan. She's the best singer in the world and we're all so lucky that she has a show like this and the success it has had so far is astounding. She truly is beautiful so let's stick by her and hold our heads high against everyone who says she's crap or the show's crap because we know it's only jealousy. There's no doubt that IDAN was playback both nights so don't really know0 but it was defo there in soundcheck cos it's my fav song and I was freaking out! Quote
