Christina has a fabulous voice and if she learns to protect it the way Celine did, she will have a long career, too! I think Céli is waiting to see how well Christina's new album does - because her wish is to drop a jazz, blue, old school album, too!

Annie Lennox (of the Eurythmics) - voice is powerful and beautiful and rough around the edges! Everyone SHOULD know "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of These)" word for word?!

And Babs - well - she is BARBRA STREISAND for God's sake - rewind her entire career and you know why she's one of Céli's faves!

Never heard of Renee Olstead before. But I just took a look, and yea she's talented. But she's too young to sing the blues. And the arrengements are too mainstream. How I wish Céline knew she could so so much better herself.

Both are very jazz-oriented. Michael Buble does a little modern pop ('Home') but is very much the smooth crooner.

 

Renee Olstead is a 16 year old up and comer (from Texas, I think) who is David Foster's most recent project. She sings jazz (the old favourites). She's also an actress on a current show, but I have to idea which one.

I think she mentioned BRITNEY because a few days before that, Britney was like starstrucked when she saw Celine at the 1999 Billboard Music Awards, and they took pictures together and talked.

I remember talking to someone who was a big Briney fan a while back, and I asked them why they would want to go to a concert where a lot of the songs could be performed to a recorded track...and their response was "because she's a fantastic dancer". So I guess I kind of saw where they were coming from. However, I go to a concert to hear live music.....and I love going to see people who are just as good, if not better live than on CD (ehem Celine ehem).

 

Anyway, yeah, I agree that Celine can't really make up her mind. I think it just depends on when she is being interviewed. If you ask her that same question in a year, she will probably have totally different answers. I think we are all like that to a certain degree. She, of course, will always say Barbara...just like all of us will always say Celine!
