Céline saying NO more

I think Céline needs to learn to say "NO" more. I was watching the CBS TV special "At Last" video on youtube.com and she was talking about 9/11/2001, and she said that she really didn't want to go and perform GOD Bless America LIVE, but the people that were creating the show needed her there and David Foster had already asked her to go and she was a little weary about it, then finally broke down and said yes, when all she was gonna do was record the song in the studio with cameras there to film her singing.

 

What do you guys think? Should she learn to say "NO" on some things? And why do you think she should say "NO"?

There are times when she says yes, and there are times when she says no. She says that she is like a lump of clay and that when I was younger I was shy at the business end of things, but she is getting better at saying "NO".

 

That's why I ask.

Looking at her life, I think she's got everything under control and has made the right choices. She pushes herself as hard as anyone else pushes her, so when it comes to her decisions, I think she's on the best track. Sometimes your first impulse is to say no, but when you've done it, you're glad that you did. And if she's really against something, I'm sure she speaks up.

 

She's not as much of a 'door-mat' as many think. The girls got a strong will and some long tiger nails, so let's leave her to it.

I really don't know, because there are so many things that we couldn't know in her life. We can talk about information that we get from radio, TV, other fans, but we never know what does she feel and tell and do in her hidden from our ears or eyes life. Because of this I voted for I don't know

I think those of us who have such a tendency to ALWAYS help out when needed or asked should learn to say NO once in a while. I have a hard time saying no to most requests to do things for charities or other volunteer organizations, but since the hurricane... I have learned to put MY needs first and say NO to several requests. I think she should be more selective...only say yes to things she feels connected to or passionate about...like Cystic Fibrosis, Tanguay Foundation, Ronald McDonald House Charities, etc.

EVERYONE was still in a state of trauma and scared after 911... I TOTALLY relate to her apprehension about performing then. Another time I think she should have put her foot down and said "NO", was when she was frustrated about people dying in New Orleans after the hurricane and Larry King asked her to sing. At times she is TOO gracious! But, I guess that's one of the reasons we ADORE her... her heart is bigger than any ocean!

i don't know...i mean i don't think Celine says yes all the time....i am sure there are cases when she says NO. however it is not necesarly for us to know it, like one_heart_1_hart said

We don't hear the proposals that are made to her so we also don't know wether she says no or yes...

I voted yes to saying no more because I feel she has pushed herself in the past like when her father died - how many days did she get of 2?. I would have asked for more. She should still no today to because she has to care of her family which can take alot of work with a little boy running around, and also having to deal with work and trying to make people happy. I would probably have said no very loudly especially if i was always tired like Celine probably is.

I think she says "no" more than we imagine. Sheknows very well how to control her life, her professional life too. And she is very strong and brave - like when she went to NY - she was very brave and I think sometimes we have to do some sacrificies in order to achieve smething else.

I agree with both of you....we dont watch her sun up to sun down so how do we know wha she says and when she says it? She knows her limits and takes wonderful care of herself.....or she wouldnt have taken the time off that she did to have Renee Charles. That was the biggest and best no she ever said.=)

I totally agree with the both of you guys! So I voted NO Celine knows what she wants, she knows whats best for her.
